Rare,

Ignore all the jealous folks posting rubbish. Landies are great vehicles. If you look at some of my previous posts, we've had a couple of prangs in them, and walked away without a scratch.

Like Rover and Brew, we're at 200K miles in a LR3. Sure, some maintenance, but nothing that I couldn't remedy. V8 is the only way to go, the V6 is far too under powered in this chassis.

Is that Kensington Blue? What wheel bearing was causing problems? For me it was a front, about the same mileage. Control arm bushings and tie rods tend to wear, so get good one's when they are due. Also get a code/fault reader for it. It will ease your mind. I think mine's a "FaultMate". Was around $250 if I recall, and has saved $$$ over the years. If you have any problems, hit me up.

Oh yeah, for those jealous one mentioned above ( I don't want to hear any backlash on XXX vehicle being better, it's your opinion, just as I have mine), We own a Series 1, 3 Defender 90's, A LR1 (Disco 1), and the Disco/LR3. Had a P38 Rangie, and well actually still do, but it's a bit tired now.
Baltic Blue. Sounds just like your experience…front passenger side bearing was replaced. Thanks so much for the false coder…had never heard of those. Many thanks!!!!

Got sent a song on WhatsApp...wish I could put it on here...but not possible.....it would stir it big time.....I did send it to @roverandbrew :E Rofl:
Damned hilarious as well. Can't find it anywhere on the web or I would post it for you.

I fortunately heeded the old man's advice. :E Angel: :A Childish:

Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40

If anyone reading this has Landy lust, I’ve got a pretty sweet 1995 D90 TDI 300 with a totally rebuilt engine & a year old inside/out paint job! ;)

Why would anyone spend (in the USA) 350k or more for a updated 110, when you can buy a modern G-wagon used for less than half of a 110.

Saw this yesterday - a Series II.

Previous owner probably died searching for that oil leak :A Stirring:

Our Superintendent Owns one, Sport I believe.
Ford, Chevy & VW .. all other sales/service is 4 hours away.

I have to say that my D2 with the TD5-engine has proven to be a reliable car. It had som issues when I got, all found to be caused by previous owners use of cheap parts.
As for wifeys LC 150, it is reliable, but it lacks sharm and soul, one could just as well drive a Volvo.
Now, the "Africa"-Cruisers are a different story, I would buy one tomorrow morning if they where available here. But the do not pass EU regulations on safety and environmental things.
