It is with a heavy heart and tear filled eyes that I learnt of the passing of Russel Caldecott this morning, I will remember without exception the nights spent at Ultimate lodge in Vic Falls between safaris...

I met some great Zim legends there and learnt many things from Russel, him being in a wheel chair did not slow him down the least.. with continued safaris and still actively hunting all dangerous game species!!!

He's never say die attitude and strong willed nature, determination and smile...will stay with me for the rest of my days..

Bye bud, you will be missed....

My best always

Jaco, Sorry to hear of the passing of your friend. My sincere condolences to the family.

Be strong, my friend, I know how you feel. He was a man amongst men.

Thanks Doc.
That certainly lets you know about the man.

Jaco, that is a friend to be missed for sure.
Remember the stories, they had to be good ones with a guy like that.

Sorry to hear of your loss. He certainly seemed to make the best out of a difficult situation. Bruce

I am sorry for your loss. Please accept my deepest condolences. These events are never easy. Be comforted by knowing that you carry the hunting tradition that he loved so much.

Jaco not good news, met him when he used to go to sci in reno so last time was a while ago now, and he was a real nice bloke. pulling into his place was one of those things i kept meaning to do, but never got around to..........

Know how you feel Jaco, Russ was a good friend of both me and my wife.
They must have been in dire need of a" Good Man" in the heavens above to call him up this soon.
I see it as a priviledge and honour to have had him as a friend.

Lala Salama Russ

Sorry to hear of your friend Jaco.
Sounds like one tough SOB
I know he will be missed by many.
In the end, we are left with but memories.
Enjoy the good ones, discard the bad and stay close to the friends you have.

Russ was an awesome guy and we have a lot of Zimbabwean friends that were very close with him. I had also sent clients to stay at his Ultimate Lodge in Vic Falls and they had a great experience because of him. RIP Russ!
