Left Hand Shotgun - I want One

I’ll take a look. Some of these stocks have coatings on them that may make it difficult to get paint to stick. What color did you have in mind to paint?
I would paint the black stock in a wetlands camo pattern. Spray paint job if it could be done. I have done a couple rifles

I’m just seeing more black left handed shotguns at a better price than the camo ones

No left hander’s…

I've always liked the Beretta, but the way the Benelli performs in the wet and mud of a waterfowl hunt is undeniable. Since the Inertia Drive of the Benelli is out, I'd highly recommend the Beretta A400 Extreme in camo of your choice. I don't often shoot 3.5" shells but it's nice to have the option.

Trust me, I get that the gas guns feel softer than the inertia drive. Hope your shoulder holds up and the ducks drop down. ;)

I found this on GB for less than $1800...

I at one time thought I needed 3 1/2" shells and had a SBE. Over time steel loads improved considerably. and I aged considerably, so I now shoot only 2 3/4" or 3" shells. I shoot an M2. My son shoots an M2. My daughters shoot left handed M2s.

Benelli is an amazing shotgun for waterfowl if it fits you.

You should try TSS loads from Federal or Apex if you really want to step your game up above steel.

Typical TSS shot for Turkey is 7, 8 or 9 instead of 4, 5 or 6 in lead or copper plated lead. For Goose I'm using 7 shot and Duck is a 9. The results I've personally seen have been devastating.

You went to Cabela's & Scheels in Reno...

And it's time for an update!
Not much in the way of left handed at Scheels or Cabela’s. There was one Benelli LH at Scheels. I’ve shot the Benelli in Canada recently and it worked well, but kicked a little hard for my liking. I’m certain that I will get a Beretta. The gun Dept manager at Scheels said it was pointless to order a Beretta LH and I didn’t have time to convince him otherwise… Plenty of right handed shotguns. The hunt continues…

Scheels has a good amount of ammo, powder, and bullets in stock. Not much I need at this point, but if I go back up next weekend I’ll check again for RL15 powder.

Cabela’s didn’t have as much inventory of shooting supplies as Scheels and certainly seemed a lot less busy. Not sure if this is due to Cabela’s location. It being on the way out of town and just before the California border.

They are both great stores, but Scheels is more convenient for me.

I’ve got several cases of original 3 1/2” Hevi-Shot… But, I do appreciate your point.

It's always an adventure popping off a 3.5", 2 1/4 oz turkey load. This is my pattern at 30 and 60 yards with TSS...

I'm sure the Beretta would pattern about the same but I'd be concerned with your shoulder handling it. The 3.5" Hevi-Shot BB goose loads I was shooting weren't much different when it came to recoil.

Finally!

I sold 2 Right handed 12 Ga Shotguns to make room for this one. Parted with my original Extrema and a Browning Gold Evolve.

Not crazy about the bolt handle, will likely change it out…

Looking forward to trying at my gun club this week!

Very nice. You are going to have a ton of fun with it.

I picked up one of these (except RH) for my dad. It’s absolutely the softest shooting 12 bore I’ve ever used. I found that the bolt handle was an advantage in the field and like it more than the one on my SBE3.

i shoot a remington left hand 11-87 12 ga., after useing right hand shotguns for so many years, it took a while to adapt to the 11-87.

I know a guy who’s LH but has shot RH firearms for so long that he can’t go back. He’s also retired military and there is no love for the lefties with Uncle Sam…it’s adapt and overcome or get out.

My dad was left handed. I had an uncle that was left handed. I’m right handed and right eye dominate, but shoot left naturally. It was never corrected and started when I was probably 5 years old shooting my Daisy Red Rider.

I shoot rifles and shotguns LH. I have to close my right eye. Not a big issue with a scope. I can also shoot both right hand, but rifle and shotgun are a much more natural fit to left. I’ve sold most of my right handed rifles and shotguns. I have a collection of antique and military rifles I won’t sell…

I now have most of my desired rifle calibers in left hand. 450 Dakota, 375 H&H, 300 RUM, 7MM REM MAG, .243, .223, .22-250. Still want to add a .22LR and possibly a 20 Ga in LH.

Another lefty here.
I ended up going with a left handed Benelli SBE II 12 gauge years ago.
Then I had to a left handed M2 in 20 guage.
Then there was a Benelli 3 gun 12 gauge, it was fitted with a left had stock.
Then there Nova I left as is. I do prefer a right hand port on a pump. Makes single loading so easy.

I find the Benelli shoots softer than a bunch of other semi auto shotguns. But recoil perception is just that, one’s perception.
In adverse conditions, sleet, snow, the Benelli keeps on going, Boom, Boom, Boom.

You’ll like it. I moved to using the the A400 last season and wish I’d done it sooner. The only other I’ve kept that I will never part with, is a LH HK Benelli M1 super 90. If you come across an SBE or M1 of that era, pick it up!

I had a Right hand Berreta A400 and sold it after a season because my buddy wanted it and I knew I was going LH.

I shot a LH Benelli SBE 3 (I believe it was a 3) in 12 Ga on my recent hunt in Canada. Nice, light, fast and recoil wasn’t an issue. I had a couple shells get hung up during the ejection cycle due to me not completely shouldering the Benelli, but that was my fault. Shooting a brushed in stand up blind can be tricky as the shotgun can get snagged or if you rush a shot trying to clear a branch and not completely shouldering the gun.

I’ve shot Berreta and Browning for waterfowl for well over 20 years and prefer a gas actuated shotgun. I still have a Nova in 12 Ga I hunt deer with in LA…

I found myself looking at Benelli LH several times!

Sadly I do not do enough upland or water fowling.
The Ducks and Geese have not been making down south in the big numbers. The water fowl sanctuary created by Ducks Unlimited seems to holding the birds there. It has not gotten cold enough in years to push the birds farther south.

I have no idea the shipping cost from here to Costa Rica. I can do my research on shipping and get back with you later today.

I didn't see your request re: ship co’s. My last shipment was 2023. Quotes from SBS Logistics ($1,198), Badger Cargo ($1,184 - used them) & AHG Trophy Shippers ($1,746). AHG owner's an asshole so wouldn't have used him anyway. Eastern Cape - Houston, TX, so your mileage may vary. NEVER use Karl Human Taxidermy aka Wild Africa Taxidermy on Eastern Cape. Trophies arrived shattered with no padding/packing material.
