"I should note that Bush was running around a 70% approval rating at the time and you will note both sides of the aisle are applauding."

Wow... just... wow. At this point, that seems about as attainable as a winning lotto ticket or unicorn backstraps.
Read my lips killed HW’s reelection chances.

Voters are fickle. The Coalition won the war overwhelmingly to huge acclaim and then he still lost to Bill Clinton in November of 1992.
Yes, it was Bush saying during his campaign, "read my lips, no new taxes", and then signed the largest tax increase in history up to that point after he became President. No way was he going to survive that.

There were a couple things that HW did that caused sufficient voters to change from HW to Perot. As noted was the Read My Lips, then double-crossing the taxpayers; but there was also the Ruby Ridge fiasco with Lon Horiuchi shooting/killing a woman armed only with a baby and HW criticizing the NRA & publicly resigning his lifetime membership because the NRA criticized the FBI/DEA/ATF/US Marshall.

With regard to Russia and its economy, I wonder how significant will be the effect of the Ukraine war. I suppose the only benefit aspect of the war is that it isn't being fought on Russian soil so the infrastructure isn't being destroyed; but the non-military production must surely be suffering due to the assignment of resources to the military as well as a significant portion of manpower. Since the government controls the information I suspect the Russian people won't know how bad the effects of the war are until the country's economy goes off the cliff.

Are tunnels turning into a death trap for Hamas? The vast tunnel network in Gaza was built to protect the Hamas terror army & leadership. But as Israeli forces move deeper into Gaza, Hamas is facing some problems…

Problem 1: You can seal off tunnels or pour things into them: Water, cement, gas, explosives… you can send in robots... but it doesn’t work the other way around. Terrorists inside a tunnel have limited options for targeting those outside…

Problem 2: Contact with the outside world is limited. Messages are often delivered in person by messengers. Communicating & getting info about what’s happening outside can be tricky if your enemy controls the area above…

Bottom line: Tunnels are ideal when the enemy is away. They will protect you from airstrikes & limited raids. But with the IDF deep inside Gaza, the dynamic changes. Difficult battles are still coming up, but the Hamas tunnel network is starting to crumble.

I think I’ve fallen in a worm hole and woke up in an alternate universe! Kamalala was named the border czar and pronounced the border closed. Kamalala was named the AI czar and might not be able to read an analog watch. Kamalala announced the formation of a committee to fight Islamophobia with the world news dominated by pro-Hamas activity less than a month after Hamas invades Israel.
Heaven help us

Of course Ross Poro or whatever his name was didn’t help much either.

More like the freaking Twilight Zone.

So I see the Hezbollah leader has vowed to continue to attack our troops. Is this not a declaration of war? Why are we not vaporizing this buffoon?

I’m pulling this comment back around because I’m honestly confused. It appears that Hezbollah is at war with us. Shouldn’t we crush them? Is there something I am missing?

"Imagine if you will, Kamala Harris being put in charge of ANYTHING requiring competence in this or another dimension. You unlock this door and see Kamala's smiling face and hear her cackling laugh and now know you're in another dimension of unbearable sound and sight, a dimension of thinking you're losing your frickin mind". Welcome to the Brandon/Harris episode of the Twilight Zone!

Beirut/Lebanon is a touchy subject ( like the rest of the Middle East) I lost one of my best high school buddies in the barracks bombing. This was one decision that Reagan made that I will never understand. Actually 2 decisions, went against advice on sending in the marines and then the second is what appeared to be tucking our tails and pulling out. But what did I know back then, I was a college sophomore at the time. More worried about girls than anything else.

Totally devastating. How much more
Armor and personnel do they have to sacrifice? At some
Point the equipment is gone and the personnel are dead. The disregard for their troops is stunning.
Zeihan thinks Russian will try to over run Ukrainian lines with 600,000 soldiers. Large gatherings should be nice targets, but will we have armed them with 600K in mind? The west should not muff this opportunity!

Russia will always have things nations want: Potash for fertilizer, oil, neon, palladium, etc. so a restart might not be out of the realm of possibility. Losing a million people, not so good.
I wonder if the Ukrainians would be justified in strikes on military manufacturing facilities? They would be on Russian soil, but of significance to their defense...

I really support flooding by sea water. I think any form of gas smacks of the chemical warfare banned during WW I.

Understand what you are saying. The question is how many of the hostages would be killed if this was done.

One of the things I don't understand is why Ukraine targeting something on Russian soil is somehow considered wrong by anyone but Putin. Russia invaded Ukraine. Russians are blowing up stuff and killing Ukranians on Ukraine's soil. If Ukraine can blow up Russian military support of any kind that happens to be on Russian soil, more power to them.

Just something I saw that seemed interesting.

Odd strange idea here from him...thoughts anyone....

Share Message - What a Donald Trump second term would look like
If he focused on inflation, energy, trade and immigration/border policies, he’d be a shoe in for the next President. However, Trump being Trump, things seem to go south for him when he ventures into the abyss of “stranger than fiction” ideas and potential policies.

Jake, Sorry to bug you again. I was wondering if you could share a. couple actual pics of this crossbow with me?

Xpedition Archery USED Scrapeline390X Sniper Gray Crossbow XACW1001 - Light Wear - Needs Bolt/Arrow Guide Spring UA5689

If it is in a decent shape, would you be willing to sell it for $100 shipped? IS it missing the retention spring that goes over the bolt?
Thank you Ferenc
