Very good and accurate info about Jordan.
I must add that Jordan has been a good ally for us throughout the years and they condemned the Hamas attack as soon as it happened.
However their stance has changed to neutral or even negative against Israel for various reasons in recent days.

I have no objection to what you stated as I'm not directly involved in any way with their current military and I respect your views on them.
Having said that throughout the years I observed their capabilities and had interactions with their personnel for various reasons.
Yes, they have a capable air force trained by us and they have the 4th generation fighters but majority of ground forces lack discipline and are not committed to fight or train for the lack of better term.
Most of their officers and NCO's sent over weren't able to pass our Recon pre qualification course and these were the chosen ones.
However my info is a little dated things might be different now,
Most still wouldnt pass our Recon Pre-Qual :)

Somehow a few manage to "graduate" from our SF Q Course, BRC, BUD/S, and Ranger school every year though :)

(along with a lot of other foreign students that get slots and ultimately "graduate")..

I will give them this.. the majority of KSA fighter pilots I have interacted with are pretty locked on.. I cant attest to how good they are in the air (Im not a pilot).. but watching them interact with our pilots (both past and present) they seem to at least have their attention and respect)..

Now in terms of the quality of their ground crews and maintenance teams... thats a bit of a different story I think.. :)

Exactly what you said. I spent most of a military career, to include a stint as Army Attaché in the Embassy in Riyadh, in the Middle East. In my corporate career, I was directly involved in several programs with the RSLF and National Guard (the primary internal security force in Saudi Arabia).

With the exception of Israel, the Royal Saudi Air Force is far and away the best equipped air power in the region. Indeed, from an equipment perspective, with the exception of the Israel's new F-35, they are the best equipped. Their command and control structure is not as robust as Israel, but it is far more effective than any other regional power. Their strike force is made up primarily of British Tornados and they operate over one hundred modernized F-15 SA models specifically configured for RSAF requirements. It should be noted that unlike Israel, the RSAF operates the E3A AWACS and K-3 tankers which gives them regionally unique command and control and deep strike capability (a capability Israel currently actually lacks). By regional standards, they are very professional.

As noted, the RSLF are equipped with current generation M1 tanks, Bradley IFVs, and Paladin 155mm howitzers. They have manning and collective training issues, but the quality of their kit is superb. The National Guard brigades are equipped with LAV armored vehicles and are supported by M198 howitzers. They are a well trained, fully manned and a quiet effective force.

Discounting Yemen for a moment, Saudi Arabia faces two primary threats - internal insurrection centered among the Shia of the Eastern Province or missile and drone attack from Iran. Their two most effective services - the air force and guard are focused on those threats. Should a regional conflict develop with Iran, we can be sure that the US Air Force would be quickly hosted in the Kingdom providing robust land-based strike potential against Iran.

A couple of other observations.

I find the notion amusing that the Crown Prince is a "snake in the grass" as was opined somewhere in this discussion. What he has instead demonstrated is absolute pragmatism.

I suspect more each day, that HAMAS surprised Iran almost as much as they did the Israelis. The clear lack of true coordination between Iran's dependable proxies in Yemen, Lebanon, and Syria with HAMAS argues that this was a largely independent HAMAS action. Iran will endeavor to take advantage of the opportunity, but their bluster is far different from the pin prick actions they have instigated to date.
What is your opinion of what the Israeli IDF should do now? I’m curious with your background. So far, I can’t see a clear path without a full on attack against Hamas. My theory is, if Israel shows any complacency or weakness, they will have a much larger problem with neighboring countries.

What I find fascinating among the western-based protesters are the number of young, vocal women who so strongly espouse the destruction of Israel, and their support for Palestinian rule. Do they not understand that their standing "back home" would be much, much less egalitarian?

House Republicans introduced a bill to send $14 billion to Israel by cutting funding to the IRS.

I'm sure that will go over well with the turds in the Senate
The republicans in the senate will be fine with cutting the IRS. However, none of the democrats and two-thirds of the republicans will not be ok with decoupling Israeli support from that of Ukraine - a position with which I strongly agree.

Just great. Throw everything together where one may extort the other along with who knows what junk and pork, then pass it quick under the veil of some form of emergency which may apply to only one item in the bill. That is EXACTLY the problem with all these bills and why the conservatives have finally bared some teeth in the fight. Ask McCarthy

It will be interesting to see how each individual votes for and against these bills, Israel, Ukraine, Taiwan and the border instead of hiding behind the collective and covering their asses saying that a particular bill had things they like and dislike.

They've been brainwashed to oppose anything that those on the right are for.

There are several levels to these demonstrators, all demonstrators and cause followers in fact. If you start extracting a price for their actions, applying a consequence, the vast majority melt away and go home. If indeed there is a right to demonstrate peacefully, then you need to act harshly when things cross a line, particularly if others are harmed. Impinging upon other’s rights to just go about their business should come into the realm of line crossing too. For example, blocking traffic may result in some innocent family not being able to get their child to hospital. That is not right.

One of the few examples I've seen where the police handled it in the right manner. The first clip is a when the people being prevented from free travel tried to deal with the idiots. The 2nd & 3rd clip when Nevada police arrived; no kid gloves were worn. Pretty entertaining....

A member of the Hamas leadership, Ghazi Hamad, as he is interviewed near his luxury suite in Doha. A nation of martyrs indeed - Martyr thee, martyr the man behind the tree, but don't you think of martyring me! :E Nono:

I am pretty certain that Hamas is about to be removed, and having gone to all the trouble to do so Israel for sure will not leave any chance of that vacuum being filled by Hamas 2. So how do you do that? Massive permanent Israeli police and military presence is one option, but messy for ever. Or is it possible to calm it all down at least to a far less dangerous boiling pot? It isn’t going to magically go away on it’s own.

Why does any country like Israel have to police Gaza?

Gaza has had dozens of opportunities and chosen to be a pariah state. After Hamas is removed, why shouldn’t Israel just pull out of Gaza and let the vacuum refill. If they attack israel again then israel can destroy it again. This is what america should have done in Afghanistan.

If Gaza proves itself possibly help rebuild. Until then just destroy them every time they attack.

Why does the west feel they have to rebuild a country that doesn’t want rebuilt. They have chosen to live this way. Let them enjoy the life they have determined for themselves.

I do feel bad for the average person in Gaza but they need to get their act together before any country should help them out.

I generally concur. However, such a project is already being contemplated.
The worst solution would be a UN force. They have been utilized several times in the region with little lasting success. Probably the most effective force would one composed of Arab States that have recognized Israel. Of course, that would put a very uncomfortable spotlight on Arabs policing Arabs to assist the Israel.

It is a complicated mess.

Good and informative video from Zeihan today; and as he says himself in the video, the atrocities committed by the Russian "mob with guns" (hard to call them an army) that we know about are probably a fraction of what has actually occurred.
