We went to pickup my wife’s sable from Dourlain taxidermy last week. It’s still back in the mud room for now.

We moved it in prematurely then realized some items needs to be moved or I need to rotate more mounts out to the barn or a friends pub.

Wow, that is really nice.

Sharp looking mount. I like that sleek simple base.

Great looking sable, love that pose, same one I will be using.

Congrats to your wife. A very nice animal.

Very nice, congrats to your wife!

That is a great mount. Suits the colours perfectly.

Nice. Good to see you left some for it in the first photo :ROFLMAO:

Very nice, congrats !

Great mount. Does the pedestal have to be secured to the floor?

Archer36, good question.

the pedestal is roasted ash. Fairly dense wood, and the pedestal weighs as much or more than the mount.
Also, the weight of the sable is out over a corner so it would take a fair amount of force to tip it over.
It’s eventually going in a corner In another room than the one pictured that doesn’t get traffic. So nothing should contact it.

Luckily the taxidermist knows his business

I would not want those horns tipping on to anyone.

A beautiful sable and super nice taxidermy!

The food has been disappearing. But I think it’s this guy.
