The work that went into stringing all those lights is breath taking!

 Love the lights, it looks like a lot of work went in to getting them hung.

all l see is a black square ,mate

OK obviously some people from OTHER parts of the world have no idea about the Amish people, do they? :)

Do I need to elaborate for the less fortunate?

 I take it you don't have Amish people in Upside Down land. The Amish don't believe in modern things like Electricity so at night thats what there Christmas lights would look like.

no bob , no amish folk down here that im aware of .
where are they from?

Bluey,
Amish are very "old school" religion, few drive cars, (and on those they paint everything black, no chrome) most still use horse and buggys. Oil lanterns and no electricity at all. Basicly they are still in the 1800's era.
They are from Holland IRRC. Very good people that tend to stay to them selves, family and work orientated. They are mainly farmers using horses and not mechianical tractors.

Mike is right very old school most things are still made by hand with old world skills, if you want custom Quality wood furniture then you would go to the Amish to have it made as well as hand tooled saddles and leather work, they do beautiful work and at a fare price.

with the beards and the wide brimmed hats ,always black jackets
thanks fellas , now im with thew programme.
we call em jewish .

As you can see bluey, Amish really are old order religious folks who stay in an old fashion lifestyle Some, in very rare instances, are allowed to use electric powered tools and such but only with the concurrence or their Bishop.
I never heard of any Amish that ever immigrated to the land down under.
BTW, when did they pipe electricity to you folks on the far side of the world? :):) :)

I just want to provide all the help I can to "enlighten" you folks. Having Christmas in the summer must play tricks with the mind down there. I didn't think Santa's sled worked on sand!

a lot of of us get our electricity from the sun ,down here .
last year from june 30 til this year at june 30 , the total power bill for our home was 28 dollars , but the power from our panels which gets put back into the grid made us 278 dollars
xmas in summer is all any aussie knows ,so its just normal
and once santa gets to oz he trades rudolph for matilda the kangaroo .it looks a bit bumpy on take of, but he gets the job done , no worries mate .
bit tricky landing on all those solar panels but .
