ZIMBABWE: Upwind Of Dinosaurs. Hunting Bull Elephant In Mateke Hills

Outstanding adventure! Not sure how I missed it the first time around. I have become a solid believer in that R8 thing.

Like I’ve been telling you for years buddy, you can’t have them all! lol

Thanks! Yes sir. Those R8’s definitely carry their weight. Such a compact, accurate, reliable package. I was thinking about what you’d probably say about me using the iron sights and 458 Win Mag. In that I should have had the 375 barrel bolted on and a good scope. May have eliminated all the fuss!

By 72 the whole open sights thing is much worse.

Late to the party, but thanks for sharing.

Great write up and Congrats on that Bull!

Congrats on a great bull.

You should at least put a Red Dot on that barrel, old eyes and iron sights don't mix.

Good Afternoon,
How firm are you on your Dakota 416? I am highly interested but looking at a few different guns currently.

Best,
BJ

What is the minimum you would take.

I have a Chapuis 450-400 double that looks brand new and shoots well, never been hunted from what I can tell. I am willing to part with it as I have a 375 H&H Sodia on it's way from Dorleac & Dorleac. I am looking for $9,250 for it and if you are interested, I am happy to send you some pictures. Regards,
Steve
