With all the communications difficulties and chaos in Zimbabwe in recent years I've fallen out of touch with some old hunting mates in Zimbabwe . . . and can't seem to be able to track them down.

/1/ BEN KOTZE - formerly of Karoi
and
/2/ JOHAN CARINUS, formerly of Mhangura - Doma

Emails sent to old addresses bounce back, and I've looked at the SOAZ, and ZPHGA, websites for their contacts but niether are listed.
I've emailed Sally Bown at the ZPHGA, asking for their current contacts but her email address rejects as well (argh!)
Does anone know if Ben, or Johan are still hunting? . . . Zimbabwe? or Elsewhere?
Any info or contact details are much appreciated. PM's most welcome.

James,

Thanks for the quick response. I too saw this on Google, but I don't believe it is the Ben I'm looking for. Kotze being a fairly common name in southern Africa eh? Ben was a farmer in Mashonaland and took up professional hunting after losing his farm.
I'm hoping that via the AH forum someone might know their whereabouts . . .

Martin Pieters is very active in the ZPHGA, in fact I think he is the Chairman. If the gents you're looking for are still registered with the ZPHGA, I'd have to think that Martin would have their contact information.

Martin's Website : Martin Pieters Safaris :: Omay Zimbabwe Safaris :: Contact Us

and from that page Martin's email : martin@bulembisafaris.co.zw

Hunting season over there is winding down, but he may still have clients and therefore may be somewhat slow to respond. Good luck!

Oi! Doc...careful now!

Anbessa, Neither of these guys are active members of ZPHGA any more. I knew Johan way back but haven't heard anything about him in a long time. Have you looked for either of them on facebook? Sorry I can't be of more help!
the ZPHGA / SOAZ office can be emailed on ZPHGA1@gmail.com

Thanks all, I'll email Martin Pieters and see if he might have a track . . .
As to Face Book . . gosh Johan and Ben didn't seem like they would be Face Book users!
bu things do change . . maybe I'll have to establish an account so I can look for them there.

But their kids and relatives most likely will be! Look on the 'Rhodesians world wide' site too! You can't hide on this planet anymore!

Love your rifle! I'm needing a heavier rifle for Africa. Sold my .375 Dakota Safari several trips ago. Would you have any interest in a trade of some sort involving the custom 338/06 I have listed here on the site ( I have some room on my asking price. I also have a large quantity of the reloading components and new Redding dies as well as a box of A-Square Dead Tough ammo.
