Zambia trophies from 2023 hunt are in the house!

Awesome mounts! Congrats on your success!

Beautiful mounts, congrats to you and your daughter. (y)

These look great.

This is only adding fuel to my growing excitement for my July Hunt in Zambia. Sable, Puku, and Lechwe are at the top of my priority list as well. I’m planning on taking a Pre-War Rigby in 275 as well as a Pre-64 M70 in 375 so you and @roverandbrew picking that caliber as well seems fitting. Hoping we get into a couple sable that are as nice as the ones y’all took.

I have some skilled labor available that is willing to work for room and board (a son-in-law), so we tackled the two sable today, while watching LSU baseball super regional game.

We started with this:

And this is the new look with the sable

I still need to figure out locations for the puke and lechwe, plus the blesbok I had to take down to make room for the sable on the right.

Looks fantastic. My son-in-law is also a big help when I have projects that need doing.

Having only daughters myself, he has been great help more times than I can count.

Congrats on the additions to an already awesome taxidermy collection.

You might be able to fit something like the Puku and Blesbok at 45’s off the bushbuck if your don’t mind them not being identical like everything else on each side

I have 3 impala mounts on the other walls. I could move 2 of them over to this wall, and keep the symmetry. Other options where I have a matching pair are nyala, gemsbok, red hartebeest, waterbuck and eland. All these are too large. About a third of the trophies in my man cave belong to my daughter.

I like the symmetry you’ve got. You could always go shoot and other Puku or take your daughter to shoot one

Very nice. The taxidermy on the sable and the lechwe/puku. is done very well. Like the way you have laid out you trophy room! The only thing I haven't seen is the hunt report for the elusive bear you have on the chair:Angelic:

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
