We are planning a hunting trip to Zambia in 2027, primarily we are targeting hippo, crocodile, and buffalo, with a group of three hunters.

If anyone has recent, highly recommended PHs they’ve worked with in the area, we’d greatly appreciate any referrals or contact info.

Thanks in advance.

Is there a website or social media page or something you could steer me towards? Thanks.

Another bump for Johnny and Muchinga adventures....My best hunt! The Crocs and hippos were everywhere and lots of buffalo. I saw three leopard in the day time.I took buffalo zebra and hyena.

To mention a few.
Also see PGOAZ website https://ophaa.org/member-associations/professional-guides-outfitters-association-of-zambia/

We can be flexible, was leaning towards the first week or two September though.

That’s an oddly specific question, care to expound on why you asked? Thanks.

I get people asking to come hunt on my place too early in the year ....the guys are in the gmas now sorting camps and opening the roads etc up....so nothing odd at all in my opinion....was also going to check around to see what's available....but I see Billy has given the PGOAZ website, that has most of the outfitters and PHs info on it , so you can contact them directly. Then you can ask on here about specific ones and areas on here...but chances are responses might be limited as not too many on here have hunted zambia , and not all areas. Also as per site rules as outfitters or phs we can't recommend or pass comments on other ones....so unfortunately limits info on zambia a bit due to not many from zambia involved on here who are not in the industry

It’s also good to know approximate dates to see if outfitters can accommodate a group hunt amongst the other safaris that are planned
Whenever I make enquiries regarding booking safaris for clients, the first questions are usually how many people, what animals are priority and roughly when suits the client.
Hope you have some luck.

There are a number of great areas and operator in Zambia that could give you what you’re looking for.

Hello. Zambia has unique plains game that you might consider adding - red lechwe; puku; sitatunga, etc… in the Kafue region; black lechwe in the Bangweulu Swamp and Kafue lechwe in the Kafue Flats. Something to consider since you are already considering being there for other species. I’ve been to all three areas so let me know if you have questions.

@spike.t is a great operator in Zambia and has a wealth of knowledge about other areas and operators as well. He gave me some great advice.

I just saw Budsgunshop.com has both the guide gun and the African for $1150. FWIW - I bought both and decided to use the Guide gun - I restocked it in a Bell and Carlson stock and I added the Alaska arms floor plate to add a round. I wanted the shorter barrel as I will use a suppressor. I wont go lower than $1100, but I will ship it and no sales tax.

Let me know if you are interested
