Who needs a 416 Taylor? :)

This is just another example of why this site is so good. Like minded folks looking out for each other. Somebody needs to get rid of a rifle and somebody else needs it. Congrats to all involved.

Up for grabs is a 416 Taylor built on a Brazilian M1908 (98 Mauser action, built pre-war in the DWM factory in Germany.. IMO among the best steel and manufacturing you can find in pre-war mausers).. Its got an ER Shaw barrel and ER shaw did the work on the bolt face and on the action rails (their “magnum conversion” process) so that the rifle will feed the big 416 Taylor case properly. Its also got a Timney sportsman trigger, williams “firesight” iron sights , Warne steel bases, parker hale bottom metal (somewhat ornate compared to typical military bottom metal, and also has an Oberndorf style floor plate release), a boyds walnut stock (with black, polymer tip) and limbsaver recoil pad. Ive probably got $1700 invested in this rifle between all of the various components and gunsmithing involved. Stock and steel show a few safe marks, etc.. but overall I'd say its in very good condition (no deep scratches or obviously worn spots, etc on the wood)..

In addition to the rifle, I’ll throw in:

Lee reloading dies

50 primed cases – resized to 416 Taylor – Head stamped 458 Win Mag - Various brass manufacturers, Winchester Large Magnum Rifle primers

30 Loaded Rounds – Head stamped 458 Win Mag (good for practice) – 350gr Barnes TSX over 69 grains of IMR 4064.

18 Loaded Rounds – Head Stamped 416 Taylor (Norma Brass) – 350 gr Barned TSX over 69 grains IMR 4064

10 Factory Norma 416 Taylor Dangerous Game Solids (375 Gr)

3 “dummy” rounds I built for practice

Plenty of ammo and components to keep you shooting for a reasonable period of time.. Im guessing (haven’t googled or tried to add it up) that the dies, ammo, etc are another $250 in value.. Ive likely got some more 458 WM brass out in the shop and possibly some more 416 Taylor loaded ammo out there as well.. but I cant 100% commit to that.. I’d need to do some digging.. If I come across anymore between now and the time the rifle sells, I will throw them into the deal at no additional cost..

SCOPE AND RINGS NOT INCLUDED WITH THIS SALE.. I’ll be moving the scope over to another rifle..

$1200, shipped to your FFL (ammo and brass, etc I will ship separately directly to the buyer)..

Not interested in any trades at this time..

Listed at one other location as well..

Thanks!

Sir, I think I have been writing to you about the purchase of the HK 639 rifle under an email "Tt Jake." If this is you, then I am truly interested. I am just trying to verify identify. Tt Jake is asking for a cash transaction. No disrespect intended, Just trying to verify who I am talking to. Thank you. Respectfully. Dan

Hey my friend, I am returning to SA for a Cape Buffalo hunt in June 26. My outfitter has suggested Highveld but I have read some poor reports. Wondering how satisfied you were with your mounts from them? Thanks in advance.
Finally back to somewhat normal I missed reading the messages and posts
