Gearing up for my 2014 trip, and wanted some of you guys opinions on gaiters. (Or any other necessities).

I have tried the canvas and leather gaiters.

Leather hands down are the best.

The canvas ones, you will have rubbish sticking to it.

Apx. $30 USD

Thanks wheels. I think I will order a pair from Rowland Ward. Now if only I could find a 470NE double at such a deal ...

No problem. Not sure what shipping will add to the cost.

Where and when are you hunting in 2014?

I will be in Zimbabwe late May til early June. Plains game only (unless a super opportunity for buff or leopard comes up). I hope to go back in two years for buff and maybe leopard.

Sounds like a blast. Will look forward to hearing about it and seeing pictures.

moroka.30 make a good set of snake proof gaiters , called snakebusters .
not cheap, but all reports state they are the goods

I have no idea the shipping cost from here to Costa Rica. I can do my research on shipping and get back with you later today.

I didn't see your request re: ship co’s. My last shipment was 2023. Quotes from SBS Logistics ($1,198), Badger Cargo ($1,184 - used them) & AHG Trophy Shippers ($1,746). AHG owner's an asshole so wouldn't have used him anyway. Eastern Cape - Houston, TX, so your mileage may vary. NEVER use Karl Human Taxidermy aka Wild Africa Taxidermy on Eastern Cape. Trophies arrived shattered with no padding/packing material.
