One in camp parking area and one wrapped on our cruiser bumper. I thought it pretty unusual to see 2 in a week.

South Africa(Waterberg Mtns)
October
Was crossing a trail and heading for the rocks.

I’ve never seen more than 1 mamba on a hunt thankfully but I’ve seen them on hunts in Namibia June, South Africa September, and Tanzania May. My most recent trip was to Tanzania and I saw 1 each cobra, mamba, and puff adder. The mamba blocked our path tracking a buffalo. It was unnerving looking at it though the scope when it decided to turn and face us at about 20 yards.

One in four trips. Early September in Marakele Park in South Africa. Crossed the trail in front of us. Must have been a young one. About 5’ long. Other trips were in June and no sneks.

Marakele was a cool place. Would love to go back and stay in one of the tent camps!

Zero seen in two trips to SA in July. We did hunt a place they called The Mamba near Thabazimbi.

One. In Limpopo in March of 24. Headed back to camp after a day of tracking buffalo. Saw a stick (I thought) in the road ahead. PH was driving and on the phone. As we got close, I saw it move. Yelled "snake" and PH damn near wrecked the truck. LOL He hated snakes. We ran over it as we drove by. Got out and finished it with a rock.
Also saw a puff adder, spitting cobra (both in Eastern Cape) and had a big python swim by us while setting in a blind watching game.
More snakes than I need. And all in March

3 Namibia April
2 Zambia july
2 Zambia june
1 Botswana july
1 Zimbabwe - Dec, in camp

I shot one in Bots 30-06 11’
Shot one in Zambia 12g 10.5’
PH shot the one in camp Zim .375

2. SE Zimbabwe 2017. August. Immediately alongside a river, in holes or pits within shady wooded bank areas in the heat of the day. (Cobras: Namib 3, Zim 2. Adders: Namib 3)-All during African "Winter.") Saw 0 snakes in the Caprivi! We fed the fish eagles in one case (at the PH's insistence, where an adder was buried beneath farm tracks school kids walked 2x daily. *Aim low at 2 yds. lol **Story: A childhood friend once sternly told me NOT to have sex with his gorgeous Sister! ;) You solicited.

1 in Sep of 2021 in Namibia originally at about 30 feet then about 7 feet at the nearest. Travelling about 100mph and was AT LEAST 60 ft long. Swear to God!!!

Like others, I also added a cobra and adder to the list of species seen on my trip. We had to turn tail because of cobra after it swam behind a tree line because we couldn't tell which way it was going afterward.

Having seen a big one moving at full speed, if I see one turn to face me on foot at 20 yds, I'm turning tail and leaving people in the dust.

Love the stories. keep 'em coming!

1, June 2014. It was swimming a small tributary of the Zambezi. It didn’t make it, it disappeared in a crocodile induced splash.
Mozambique, Coutada 10

0, and I want to keep it that way!

1 was crossing a two track and PH took a shot at it.
The other we watched for quite awhile during lunch. It was in a tree going in and out of bird nests.
