@0002S - I hope you, your Seamaster Diver 300 and the 470NE enjoy the safari. Looking forward to the hunt report. What's on the menu?

Looked like great bullet performance
Yes and no. The 150s did exactly what they should have done and held together well. That being said I only used them on animals that I should have used them on.

The Federal soft points stayed together but the first shot hit the left shoulder square. It completely shattered the leg bone. It held together and only went into the left lung about 1/2 way. (at 28 yards with 470). The second shot was quartering away on the left side rear and penetrated about 1/2 forward at towards the front right. It was DOA, but didn't know yet. We gave it some time and it was getting dark. We tracked the blood for about 100m and then it was dark and too thick to take a chance. It wasn't going anywhere so we started up in the morning with a dog. We caught up with it about 75m farther in some real thick shit. The dog kept him occupied and we dumped more into him until he went down. Uneventful and exciting. Nice old bull with hard bosses and nice drop. Euro mount than flat skin.

G Shock GW-M5610 (known as the ‘square’) is the only watch you ever need. Especially the only outdoor watch you need if you like simple, small and comfortable. It is solar atomic, around $100 on Amazon and proven for decades. Never change batteries, and updates atomic time every night. I love my mine so much. Waterproof, bomb proof. There is a reason most soldiers wear G Shocks.

Greatest watch of all time.

Ernest my tracker with his DW-5600 I gave him. His first watch. He was sporting it in the field today.

Casio Sport. Solar powered charging, altimeter, barometer, compass and the watch is radio controlled so it is always correct and automatically resets for the twice annual time changes. Also water resistant to 10 bars.

Gshock fan too. I favor the more simple ones Like the 9052. Have tried Suntoo and a garmin watch. Back to my g shock. I broke a timex Ironman in the 1990s playing army and bought a gshock. i buy a new one when they get pretty beat up. Maybe 7-8 years. Currently on #4 and #3 is still going fine.

I have a Rolex GMT Master 2, 2010 model, black dial.
I really like it, but it is a little bit busy. My current feeling is towards really simple, no frills, but high quality. So I am thinking of trading it in for Rolex Oyster Perpetual 41, like the one below. What do you think?

Kevin, you seem to like that stainless and black look. Have you considered the Rolex Explorer II with black dial? That watch has exceptional legibility, adds the real world utility of a GMT hand, and is tough as nails.

The extra hand and the date window detract from the pure simplicity of the lines on something like an Oyster Perpetual.

At least that’s my thought.

The (now out of production) Omega Railmaster is another purist piece, but I know how much @Kevin Peacocke loves a Rolex. ;)

Agreed, it must be dead simple or I may as well stick with the GMT.
I like the Railmaster too.
I am not wedded to a black dial, rather like a brown one, but I don't think Rolex does such a thing? No blue though.
