I have a couple taxidermist in Austria.

How would I go about exporting Namibia or Botswana trophies?

I just want the skulls from most things and a couple rug mounts.

Multiple ways. There a quite a few trophy transport companies in Europe. If you want I can name a few. Also some taxidermist that have an all inclusive concept. Handling everything from the end of your hunt until the finishing and shipping of your trophies until your doorstep.

Currently using First Class Trophy ( all in concept) for my trophies from Namibia.

I looked at that, they are expensive, I will call them Monday. I spoke to my taxidermist in Austria, she says everyone does the import thing themselves and brings it to her.

You have already hunted a few times worldwide, what have you done with your trophies so far?

Since I have been hunting regularly worldwide for around 40 years and in Africa for more than 30 years, I know that it was much easier in the past and that sometimes you could even take the trophies from Africa with you on your return trip, but all that is long gone and nowadays everything has to be done through various intermediaries and transport companies, no matter which country. Normally every outfitter has the contacts to have your trophies sent to your home or to your taxidermy. Unfortunately it costs a lot and more and more. By the way, these all are my last worries when started with a hunt because I have to be successful first before it comes to think about trophies and what happens next with it.

My last Namibia trophies never arrived, this was a long time ago in 2005. Paid for the shipment and nothing happened. I did not have a plan, and so I failed.

In Australia all I shot was foxes and kangaroos. Could have killed some female sambar deer, but I never found the stag.

Here in mainland Europe I just drive home with it. I am afraid I don't have any knowledge or idea of how to manage it here in Germany, and I don't speak German well enough to do it.

I was looking at a Croatian brown bear hunt for April of this year. They told me it was illegal for me to drive my bear to my taxidermist in Austria because of CITES tags, but they would let me do it. I don't know about you but I don't want gay prison sex because I violated some kind of law in Austria, Germany or Croatia.

Same here. I want to figure this out at least somewhat.

That's why nowadays you need specialized transport companies that can take care of all the legal formalities for you. All of this costs something and unfortunately the assured good quality of a service cost even more.

If you want only the trophy transport you can also look at laserline logistics or trophaen spedition. Both from Germany and with lots of experience. Labrador from Denmark and I can name some others. But they are all solid solutions.

First Class uses LaserLine

I can't remember the exact date but Croatia is accepted in the Schengen zone. I do not know if last April this was the case but now it is safe and legal to do.

Croatia is in Schengen since 01.01.2023. You can take the trophy home within EU, directly from Croatia.
The issue now is, trophies from Bosnia.

Hi PaulB,
I have a Ballard Arms Model 1885 chambered for .333 Jeffery Flanged. Do you have any idea where I can get ammo for this?

I am new to this forum so I am sorry if I am doing something wrong!
Thank You!
