What gun do Professional Hunters like to use?

Speaking of shotguns for leopards, how effective is the use of buckshot on them? I've heard varying opinions.

I'm re-reading John Taylor's "Pondoro" wherein he states that he killed any number of leopards with buckshot while hunting them at night for their furs. The market price was up at the time.

Just got back from a safari for Cape buffalo with two PH's.

PH 1 used a custom Mauser 404J with a 5+1 magazine. He also carried an open top leather 10-cartridge slide on an Els & Co Hogsback Canvas Belt. The second rifle he brought was also a Mauser in 9.3x62, and had a few others he didn't bring.

PH 2 used a Blaser R93 375H&H 3+1 magazine, but his normal backup rifle is a 416RUGER. His extra cartridges were in two 5-cartridge leather slides on a thin leather belt. He also has a 25-06 he uses for culling. He mentioned a 308WIN and 300WM that are used for various tasks, but mostly as camp rifles for clients on PG hunts.
