Well, I'm not as bad as my cousin--he left the status of 10,000 rounds of ammo in the rear view mirror years ago. (And, TBH, I think he was only referring to pistol ammo) But...I just seem to keep buying 8X57 JR ammo as it becomes available, even though I probably have a lifetime supply now. Hard to explain since I don't hoard ALL ammo. Maybe .22 LR, but everybody should have several thousand rounds of that, right? Especially if you need certain brands for accuracy and also want enough of the same lot when you find what is accurate.

But it doesn't stop there. I probably have almost enough fishing lures to open a store, or so says my wife. Bass? Tackle boxes and plastic Plano boxes full. Never been fishing for Peacock bass? No problem, I'm ready. I have boxes just for certain scenarios, creek, spotted bass, Lake Fork monsters, small mouth bass, striped, hybrid, you name it. Salt water--I have tons more gear than experience to be honest, and deep sea rigging out the wazoo. Reels? Pffft! Rods--name a purpose, and some just built for travel. Bins full of backup replacements for all of the above, most unopened. You catch my drift.

Let's not even start with hunting gear and all the accoutrements. That fills overhead bins. Then there is purpose clothing, latest and greatest, and practically a museum room of boots.

Somewhere along the line, getting ready for adventure, and acquisition of more stuff got a little overboard. That, or I'm completely normal and shouldn't worry...

Oh wait, I forgot reloading....thousands of shotgun components as well as rifle....look something shiny!

Mostly guns. I have most scenarios covered except a dangerous game rifle. I’m itching for a .416 of some variety to fill that niche. Also I’d like a nice over under 20ga. Most likely a beretta or Caesar Guerini to fill that slot. I’d also like a true hunting handgun in something like .44 magnum. Then I’d like a lever gun as I don’t own one. Maybe something in .30-30 Winchester.

Do I NEED anymore guns? Not really except I can make the case for the .416. Aside from that I’ve got pretty much everything else covered.

I’d say I have a problem with bullets too. I just can’t help switching up bullets everytime something new and interesting comes out.

Dude wipes lol..

Not kidding, I’m sitting on 2 cases of them right now… they were on sale, and I couldn’t resist…

Brass is another addiction…. I’ve got about 800 loaded rounds of “hunting” 308 in the ammo locker right now, plus another 300 pieces of brass waiting to be loaded…

And I caught myself eyeballing hornady 308 brass this week..

I’ve got 300 pieces of 300 prc… and for some unknown reason feel like I need a minimum of 500…

Weird stuff
30 walking stick shotguns and rifles

400 whale tagging darts ..12 ga shotgun fired
100 dolphin tagging darts 410 shotgun
The darts are engraved if found return to the Colonial Office London for reward.

A few whale grenades ......

Brass and dies ...boxes of them
crates of Brass I don't reload

Books on Africa and hunting a wall of them..

I'm generally pretty good at not accumulating crap, a side effect of having moved country a couple times in the last decade for work and spending quite a while renting in various shorter term locations.

Having the question "Am I really going to pay for a shipping container for this" in the back of my mind goes a long way to managing those impulses.

At least it's easy to keep the house tidy! It made my move into my current place a breeze as well. Two hours to load a small box van, 2 hours to unload and unpack, job done.

A lot of the stuff I originally accumulated is still sat at my mothers house back in dear old blighty. It's been 4 years in the US now, so I guess I didn't need any of it in the first place...

Dude wipes? Really!!! A tough Army guy like you saying that? I would have expected some Air Force guy saying that. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Well I'd argue you absolutely DO NEED all those you mentioned ;) And probably a few more:)

I think if a man can have a whole bag of different golf clubs for different purposes then a man should be able to have a whole safe full of guns for different purposes. I actually need another safe before I buy anymore. I actually have a plan to convert the closet in the guest bedroom into a built in safe but I haven’t gotten my wife to buy off on that idea yet.

Echoing Andrew. I’ve made a lot of money in my life. Most of it spent on booze and hookers and gambling. The rest I just wasted.

Hunting knives. Fixed blades mostly. Just when I think I’m done, another catalog arrives.

Presently, rifles that I never thought I would touch, much less own.
Ammo. If I'm at a store with ammo, one box of something is obligatory.
Socks. Yes, socks. Ever been stuck somewhere with janky socks? Misery.
Outerwear. Is it rain, wind, moss, sea otter proof? I need it. In green.
Anything I think I could possibly might have a chance to need in Africa. (Dude wipes are a given.)

Not so much weakness for ammo or components, already have good supply. But weakness for shootable military long arms from mid-1700s through the 1800s and select, old, edged weapons 1600s through 1800s. Very easy to impulse shop/buy by calling select dealer/collectors or perusing certain sites with quality inventory. I start getting a little shaky when I see high condition US M 18xx rifle muskets available - no matter that I already have a “few”. Same for old blades. :)

Hello,

I saw your post selling left hand rifles. Do you have any additional pics of the .416 Rem mag?

Thank you.
