Well, I'm not as bad as my cousin--he left the status of 10,000 rounds of ammo in the rear view mirror years ago. (And, TBH, I think he was only referring to pistol ammo) But...I just seem to keep buying 8X57 JR ammo as it becomes available, even though I probably have a lifetime supply now. Hard to explain since I don't hoard ALL ammo. Maybe .22 LR, but everybody should have several thousand rounds of that, right? Especially if you need certain brands for accuracy and also want enough of the same lot when you find what is accurate.
But it doesn't stop there. I probably have almost enough fishing lures to open a store, or so says my wife. Bass? Tackle boxes and plastic Plano boxes full. Never been fishing for Peacock bass? No problem, I'm ready. I have boxes just for certain scenarios, creek, spotted bass, Lake Fork monsters, small mouth bass, striped, hybrid, you name it. Salt water--I have tons more gear than experience to be honest, and deep sea rigging out the wazoo. Reels? Pffft! Rods--name a purpose, and some just built for travel. Bins full of backup replacements for all of the above, most unopened. You catch my drift.
Let's not even start with hunting gear and all the accoutrements. That fills overhead bins. Then there is purpose clothing, latest and greatest, and practically a museum room of boots.
Somewhere along the line, getting ready for adventure, and acquisition of more stuff got a little overboard. That, or I'm completely normal and shouldn't worry...
Oh wait, I forgot reloading....thousands of shotgun components as well as rifle....look something shiny!
