Wedding etiquette?

I will assume you have an interest in this woman...possibly beyond just a wedding date. It would be an act of courtesy to give her some cash for a dress. Or you could take it another step and go shopping with her. Set a limit with her beforehand and see how it goes. At least you would get to see your money at work and earn a little good faith by being there for her as well.

+1 on the double edged sword. Could backfire as well. Never know. You know her best and will have to make the final call. Good luck.
For once I agree with @BeeMaa :)

I should of clarified gentleman she’s a friend of my girlfriends whom Is just standing in because my girlfriend will be out of town. She has to take her father to an appointment with a specialist.

I’m in no way looking to gain liberties with the lady simply not looking for her to be out of pocket for what’s accentually a favour to me. Adding to that the wedding is an expensive affair that seems to be getting worse with every passing week. I’m over a grand into a suit now which I’m told will this week require a hat.

@norfolk shooter my gal hunts she’s already laid claim to the 25-20 @Bob Nelson 35Whelen has been trying to talk me out of.
Now I've seen this post, forget it. Let her do her own thing. Unless you have money to burn then who cares?

Could be a very small price to pay in grand scheme of things

OP, why not ask you Girlfriend about this... whatever she is comfortable with should be alright.

That’s what I ended up doing, they both appreciated the gesture but it was unnecessary.

I would never pay her cash to attend the wedding. If she has what she needs or can afford it, she’ll say yes or otherwise decline. If you are concerned what she might show up in - that is about you. Dress generally has become extremely in formal.

There is a always a lot of hot women at weddings. Good place to meet women who don't hang out in bas.
Bras or bars?:giggle:

@Skinnersblade - facing down a close range buffalo charge with a jammed reload will be a piece of cake compared to this wedding build-up!

Well, I have to confess, I went pheasant hunting on the opening weekend in Kansas once, instead of going to a nieces wedding. My wife went though. Sad maybe, but true. Ten of us did get forty two birds though.

Atta Boy!! Now I can finally say I’m not the only one to blow off a wedding for hunting.

Although I did have to contend with a shallow stab wound that was mysteriously the same width and shape as a knitting needle. But I got my muley.

I’ve already voiced my opinion on a wedding the opening day of muzzleloader season. Nobody else seemed to be as distraught as me about me missing it. I’ve got a Lyman Great Plains .50 that needs blooding.

Skinner.........while I have frequently offered money to women, for what I consider to be very good reasons, I think in this case it might be inappropriate. But just to be sure, I will text my New York buddies, Gov Cuomo and Anthony Weiner, to ask about etiquette. .............FWB

OP, what have you decided to do ?

I am righthanded, so not interested in the rifle, but I have a 375 RUM and 350 gr bullet loading data is very hard to come by. If you could reply with information regarding your loads I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Ray Boone, Leavenworth, WA

An excellent AH member right here! I had a fantastic transaction with Hornedfrogbbq (I was the seller). His communication was first rate, payment was extremely fast, and I would have absolutely no reservations at all dealing with him again. Thank you, F!
