Ideas on best way to get water from this well so I can then use pvc hose to pump/run water 375 ft to duck hole?
Flooding 2 acres.

If you have access to a tractor, fit a PTO driven pump on it. That is just a guess.
You should be able to find a 2” or however big you need PVC hose at a Co-Op

You also may have to pull the screens and clean or replace them.

The potential problems I see are 1) the pipe is set in concrete and 2) it doesn't appear very big. Is it a shallow depth sand point? May be plugged on the end. The most efficient pumps are submersible but they require electricity and a casing. Does not appear this pipe is wide enough to be casing, i.e. slide another pipe down in it with submersible attached. Be interested to know how it turns out. I think it's gonna be an expensive proposition.

Wait. What's the other thing with the blue hose outlet? Is that some kind of pump or regulator?

I can only speak for wells around here, but you would suck one dry before you could flood two acres. Most guys use diesel powered or PTO pumps with what looks like 5 or 6 inch lines straight from the river or large creek.

We are 45 ft above sea level here. My uncle pumps water in his pond from same size pipe but he has power and all.

I’m 12’ above sea level and used to maintain a 1 acre rice field with a 2” gas powered pump. No way I could fill the pond with it but after a good rain I could maintain the water level pretty well . I tried to keep 4-6 inches on the rice.

Lot of factors, but just a few basic numbers, it would take over 160,000 gallons of water to cover 2 acres with 6" of water. Lets say its a 2" well, lets guess flow rate of 10-gallons/min it would take about two weeks to pump that amount of water given the aquifer would withstand the withdrawl...and that does not factor in evaporation or seepage.

2” well would be a jet pump. I don’t know of any jet pump that’s going to move 10gpm. I’d guess 3-5 at best.
Pan evaporation can be a tenth or two per day.

I think it would be a LOT cheaper to book off work a week or two and fly to Manitoba or Saskatchewan for waterfowl hunt. You'd shoot more geese and ducks than most guys can bag over a couple hunting seasons in the lower 48. The skies turn black and the noise from birds will leave your ears ringing for a week afterwards. No exaggeration. Been there and done it.

Hello,

Am I reading your post correctly to say that the Tsavo rifle will be coming out with a composite stock later this year? I ask because I had been looking very hard for a Tsavo, but if there is going to be a composite stock model I will wait for that.

Thank you for your time,

Andrew

Saw your post. Nice. Denver too. Genesee area (just off 70) if ever up this way. Alternatively, do you have a membership at GGC? Whatever, you'll have a wonderful time in Africa. Enjoy.
