Thanks for starting the thread please could you inform me as to why you would be against hunting in SA, are there no legit dangerous game areas in SA...

Only asking as I see that you have not been over run by offers

My best always

I have to be honest foxi I doubt if you will receive a 10 day 1x1 buff safari in any free roaming area, or should I rather say a legitimate quality buff safari for 10 k all in...

I do not mean to be negative but do wish to shed some light on the subject.

I truly hope you find what you are looking for.

My best always

Jaco have to agree ..... UnfortUnately like everything in life you only get what you pay for . Everyone has the right to hunt where he likes . There us a defiante misconception that SA does not have good free roaming buff . There is ..... At a price of course like everwhere else .

There use to be late season hunts like this in Zim, but I think that is a thing of the past, gone forever.

True Richard, I still feel that fence or no fence depends on size of the area, I know of many free roaming areas outside of SA were you constantly hunt a boundary with the hope of a buffalo crossing it....

The greatest misconception in my mind is that a fair chase conclusion is drawn on wether a fence is present or not.

There are awesome opportunities to have fair chase hunts all over Southern Africa including South Africa...

My largest fear for foxi is that he will be caught in one of those nightmares we read about so often on this site and hunting reports.

That is one of the largest reasons why this site works well as it forms a research base for hunters...

If foci was absolutely set on not hunting SA for his own reasons, I would advise him to check on guys like Buzz Charlton, Martin Pieters.

All well respected members of the site and well know to myself, you and many others...

My best to you as always!

Ps good to be home! ?

Hi Jaco,
I like wilderness hunting and thats the reason I dont want to go for buff hunting to RSA.
I know, all dependents on supply and demand.
But in Europe and America, you get a lot for 10.000.- Dollar a week and in Africa, the poorest countries in the world................
This week starts the international hunting exhibition in Salzburg/Austria.
I will see

Good luck foxi hope all works out well, once again maybe contact Martin Pieterd and or Buzz Charlton reputation means allot in this industry.

My best always

Jaco,
You could not have said it better. The two names you have thrown into the hat there are very well respected members, but whether they will be able to match 10K, I'm not so sure. They run top outfits, and to do this, costs money.
Foxi, with all due respect sir, you can never compare what you get in America or Europe for 10K to what you get in Africa. Neither Lion nor Leopard has given me the same feeling as hunting Cape Buffalo.
If you want to compare apples with apples, why does everyone turn to Africa for their ultimate hunting experience?
It's simple, because she cannot be matched.

All the best to you Foxi. I have just returned from Dortmund's show, and I have heard that Salzburg puts up a wonderful show. I really hope you can find what you are looking for.

Take Care,
Marius Goosen

Speaking of you could not have said it better.... :)

I've dreamed of hunting Africa, and Cape Buffalo in particular, since I was a small child. You can get a lot of things here in the U.S. for 10K, but not a Cape Buffalo!

Hi Royal,
I've got a good one in Luangwa Valley and since this time I hooked on.
When you must work for the money, like the most of us here, you are pained (right word ?) between wish and reality.
You understand what I mean?

I suggest you have a look here at Wayne with NYAMAZANA SAFARIS as well.

Good luck with the research.

Absolutely! No disrespect intended of you took it that way. I have a hunt set up for August where I hope to take my first buff. I set a budget and have tried hard to stay within it, but I'm also willing to pay a fair price for the experience and would have personally just saved a little longer if I had needed to. Now if you can find a good hunt for that price then GREAT for you!!! :)

At Kalahari Safari, the Small Things Are the Big Things
The thrill of the stalk. The stillness of the wait. The age-old rhythm of the hunt.
It’s not just about the size of the trophy. It’s about the stories that will be told for years.
We believe the memories are the true prize. The small things are the big things.
And we’re proud to offer a hunting experience that honours exactly that.

Not sure your price range. Have a 375 H&H with a muzzle brake. Nice rifle only fired a few times. Also a Mossberg 375 Ruger its been used and shows a few hunts on it.
Two African Safaris Hunted South Africa both times,
9 game animals taken
