I know it's a long shot. Looking for a buffalo hide so I could have my buffalo mounted. I'm trying to fix all the issues I had with the crappy taxidermist I dealt with in South Africa.

I'm not naming him because we are still trying to make things some what right. But to be honest its not looking good.
P.S. never use a taxidermist in Africa. NOTHING RUINS A DREAM HUNT LIKE A SOUTH AFRICAN TAXIDERMIST..

I am sure one of our taxidermy sponsors could help you. If not I am sure a SA taxidermists will have an extra one laying around that has already been tanned but then again your taking a chance with their tanning.

If you can’t get one here then have your local taxidermist try to locate one for you. Occasionally the tanning outfits will have something on hand. My guy has managed to help me with similar issues in the past.

Good luck with your search.

Twill24 I have what you need, I have many sizes, how wide is your Buff? It's cheap if you are a client of mine. Read on.... if I mount it.
The price you would pay for a cape you would be VERY happy with, and cape buffalo ship easy and to Nebraska not expensive prob what you'd pay for a cape from someone else. I'll give it to you For free, if you have me do it. My price includes tanning of a cape so you are paying for the tanning of one of my stock ones in the price anyway. Why take andavantage of someone if your situation. My Mounts are 2,000 for wall hanging shoulder, wall pedestal 2250 and pedestal are 2600 plus cost of base you choose 595 to 995 .
If you want just buy the cape for yourself and take to another taxidermist price is $400.00 plus shipping. apporx 75.00

Sounds like a good deal to me.

Hahahahaha........

Bad taxidermy guys just don't exsist in Africa. They seem to be everywhere.

I will happily admit that I have absolutely no idea how to stuff animals, but neither do some guys who charge for it either.

A 9+ full standing Brownie mount that when he came back looked like he was doing the fox trot, had googly eyes, had a grin on his face and my friend laughed like hell and said he looked queer when they saw him.

I shot an Impala and thought it would look good in the living room. Wrong.

The guy who did that must have been related to the guy who turned my bear queer as it had big bulging eyes and teeth like a horse. In many ways it kinda looked like the mule from "Hee-Haw".

I gave up after that and just chopped heads off, fleshed them out and allowed bugs to have their way with them, then a boil a wash, a dry and hang it.

Eventually ever wall I owned had bone and horn adorning them and it just got old. Today they are gone and everyone I know has something I killed in their house.

A well done mount stays beautiful forever.

Thanks guys. Looks like I know where my buffalo is going. And I wish I would have sent it there to begin with. Artistry of wildlife.

Couldn't send it to a better taxidermist on the planet. However, any African game experienced, US based taxidermist can easily get you a cape for a buffalo. Finished product is what matters and Dennis is perhaps the very best.

Just curious, where do taxidermist get a bunch of extra capes? Whitetail I can see, mulies or elk, maybe... it just seems there aren’t that many Cape buffalo hides even imported to the states, and people who hunt Africa don’t seem to be the type to not pay there bills.

Buy them and bring them in.

I also have some buff capes. If I do the mount it’s free. 2000 on any form of your choosing including pedestals either wall or floor. If you want one of my hand made custom bases they are $850-$1200 depending on what you want.

Thanks for the email Twilly, you can expect this for your buff. Close ups of a typical client shoulder mount.

Eric, Lots of guys bring home buff capes, Thousands of Cape Buffalo are imported into the US every year , Thousands. They then decide to Euro mount , wait for bigger or run outta room. And we get the capes for free. they dump them on us just for this, it's hunter helping hunter. for re mounts or bad taxidermy or slipped and bug damaged skins. I tan them and have them on hand. You my client I give them away as I got the salted skin for nothing . The cape can now be yours as if you had brought me a salted skin, the price of the mount includes the tanning, So when twill gets his done I recoup my cost thru the mount, snd he benefits from another hunter. Now if you want to use another taxidermist and just buy the cape for your mount , your going to pay me the tanning cost and shipping.

As Denis states that is true. I also buy capes from clients when they know they just want euros. I’ve also bought capes from other taxidermists when they have surplus of certain animals and I work with several outfitter’s who get me capes.

Twilly here is double pedestal buff , your could be single pedestal if you choose.

Just wanted to say thanks for the excellent customer service. Ordered some 9.3x62 brass and the delivery was a little short. An email through your website Contact Us link was replied to the next day with the tracking info for the correction. Good pricing coupled with great customer service will see returning customers every time. Thanks again!

Made it to Augusta Georgia yesterday for a meeting, hunt bookings are looking good for 2026 and 2027, had a great time on our Alabama safari shot a rutting deer at 200 yards with 7mm PRC near Huntsville and then headed on to Butler Alabama and semi guided my first deer ever shot a very nice broken off 8 point with hunter there and spend a few days on 1100 acres hunting preserve awesome place!

I am righthanded, so not interested in the rifle, but I have a 375 RUM and 350 gr bullet loading data is very hard to come by. If you could reply with information regarding your loads I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Ray Boone, Leavenworth, WA
