I am wanting to build a set of tripod shooting sticks. Would those of you that have some take some pictures for me. Please include the tops so I can get an idea of how to best put the three sticks together. I am thinking of making a pair that the individual legs screw together to be taken down for easy storage. Thanks in advance.

Stay away from the ones you have to screw to tighten in place, the newer ones with push button mechanism much better.

I am planning on building them myself out of wood. I have a few ideas but would like to see some examples of well built ones. My plan is to build a few field ones until I get the bugs worked out then try my hand at a presentation grade set.

We build them out of reeds in Mozambique, but I prefer manufactured ones, the wooden ones you can't set them low enough if you want to sit.

for the time and effort , you'll go through
id just throw a couple of hundred bucks at a set of trigger sticks , gizmo
if you do persue the notion , hope it works out well ,mate
and id love to see some action photos of the finished product......
areyou hoping to use in Africa this year ?
would be pretty cool to use your own design on a foreign hunt

This is more for a project as a "just because" more than anything else.

l wish you much joy and succsess

Sometimes you just want to do it yourself.....Right Gizmo!

I am thinking you want something different than the typical shooting sticks? There is a thread on here describing how to lash them. I used paracord and took the moose hunting. Great for balance in the marsh too.
