Taxidermist Recomendations - NAMIBIA

On the recommendation of my outfitter, I used Trophiendienst for taxidermy (all PG) and Yellow Shark Logistics for the shipping. I am very pleased with the taxidermy as delivered. However, in the interest of full disclosure ...

I had some very specific mounts and poses in mind for my taxidermy, so in addition to describing the work, I also provided photographs of how I would like them done. Friedel was very proactive in keeping me informed throughout the process, and when the work was finished, I was told that they would email me a photo of the crate once it had been packed. I asked for a photo of the mounts before they were wrapped and crated, so I could see the completed work. Not how they usually did things, but I was insistent and Friedel emailed me the requested photos.

Everything looked great except for the Oryx and the Springbok, where the taxidermy forms used did not match what I had requested. Louw (the owner) quickly became involved, and once my concerns were understood he graciously offered to correct the forms and re-mount both animals. No cost, but it would delay shipment by a few weeks. It was well worth the wait, and as mentioned earlier I am very pleased with the final results.

Yellow Shark Logistics (who is or was a site sponsor here) was a pleasure to deal with throughout the process. Very efficient, good communication, and reasonable pricing.

I too have used kings for dip and pack and yellow shark for shipping. Good communication and well done.

Kings Taxidermy handled my leopard and dik dik and mtn zebra skins and skulls and I used Yellowshark for shipping. I was pleased with both Kings and Yellowshark.
Unfortunately I had a terrible experience with Kings Taxidermy and would suggest someone else. Terrible correspondence.

I’m quite surprised to hear that. I wonder if there was a personnel change at the time? The 3 times they’ve handled my trophies communication has been excellent compared to most.

Asked for pics during the process. Never sent. Never saw my Steinbeck till I opened the crate.
Screwed up my invoice for months. Held my breath the whole time till I received it.
Everything looked great at their studio, but went down hill from there

Mane was wrapped tightly against mount with bubble wrap and base was dragged and shows scratches

dchum: The crate was shipped in January 2025, and yes Titus remains the contact at Yellow Shark.

@Troubleshooter do you recall how much the shipping was to get your stuff back to the USA? Thanks

For my crate which was shipped from Namibia to DFW earlier this year. Volumetric weight was 50 kg (.483 cubic meters). Yellow Shark Logistics (which was a sponsor here) handled it for $1776. The crate was shipped via Ethiopian Airlines.

Note that the cost mentioned above was for the crating and intercontinental shipping only, and does not include Customs clearance and forwarding to my location.

Hello! I saw your post from last year about a missing crate from your hunt in Moz. I am curious how that all turned out? We (my fiancé and I) also hunted in Moz in 2024 and the trophies are being shipped with Hunters Services Limitada. We have some concerns on whether we will get the trophies home or not. May I ask who you hunted with?
