Tally rings

I have had no issues whatsoever with them. I have them on three rifles. My initial concern was not with the bases but with the clasp surfaces themselves. I might add, I have them on no less than a 300WM and up to 375HH. There has been zero scope walk/rotation despite the recoil.

People need to realize that technology and manufacturing is just better these days. The need for dovetail mounts with lapping is long gone.

My experience with Talley rings is all positive, Use to have the fixed rings on all my rifles, now I have the QD rings on almost all my rifles. Never had an issue and when I have had questions about mounting or bought the wrong ring height their customer service has always been very helpful.

Never heard anyone talk down on Talley. 'Have 'em on most all rifles. There is nothing more rock-solid for longer range (or heavy recoiling) rifles. We've made hunting shots out to 720 yards with 'em and they ARE part of the accuracy system! There are prettier-looking and there are also quicker release brands. I've got nothing bad to say about Alaskan, either! These Austrian bock mounts I had on a Steyr-M were gorgeous..but guess what? With heavier recoiling loads they slipped, so I had to apply automotive weatherstripping adhesive to stop it. That's NOT an issue with Talley and most gunsmiths are aware-Talleys are so precision cut they require NO reaming. They are ready to go out of the box. 'Never saw a post to the contrary. Sales and marketing is the only bunch that would fib about other brands for profit. LOL You know what looks absolutely horrible? A Piccatinny-style rail with weaver-style mounts. Try to manipulate a round a nanosecond from death with a rail atop it! The Talleys make the gun lighter, look much more clean and are proven accurizers! The ultralightweight magnesiums are ok for lighter mountain or varmint calibers but for big magnums or DG guns get the steel (and they do offer Q/Ds. Loosen the clamp and pull off-to use your iron sights.) I don't think Talley has anything to offer to the typical mass-produced black plastic $750 gun market (rings alone won't make it shoot better.) Statistics in a half-century old database Trump words alone!

My only issue is fiddling with the Tally qd levers. My Warne are easy to position correctly. My other issue I have stripped a couple hex heads removing and were originally properly torqued. Both of these could be my issues but never an issue with Warne. I have to say I prefer the looks and weight of my Tally rings.

There customer service is top notch. Any time I ever had a question they were great and haven't steered me wrong to date.

Tally are about all I use. Occasionally Warne. Never had an issue. Have them on everything from a .257 Roberts to a .338 RUM. Never an issue. A friend has cracked two; a base and a ring and he uses a torque driver. Hates them. Unlucky?

Talley rings are excellent. The only criticism I’ve heard is that they’re ugly. That is subjective, but I can understand their point.

I find that the Talley QD rings are easier to adjust than the Warne. Maybe I'm just used to them. I have them on all of my big bores up to 505 Gibbs and never had any issues at all.

I think also to add, QD rings from all manufacturers seem to get mixed reviews. I can't comment specifically though because I don't have any QD's.

Ive used them on plenty of guns, i don't remember having any issues.

I consider them the gold standard. But I don’t use detachable rings. I like the one piece base/ring combo.

If you’re a hunter, a casual shooter, or a backcountry guy who values lightweight and reliability, Tally rings are an absolute gem. I’ve taken deer, elk, and pronghorn with rifles wearing Tallys, and I’ve never once thought "I wish I had a different mount."

Like everyone else here, I’ve had nothing but an A+ experience with my two piece Talley ring/mount combos. It’s nice to get off an international flight and fire one test round that center punches the bullseye before going out to hunt.

Why is everyone hating on Tally rings?
Not sure who "everyone" is. I use Talleys for anything that I've purchased in the last 8 or 10 years. Prior to that was Leupold. the only feature that I don't care for on Talleys is that they are split vertically so the screws that tighten the rings to the scope and the screw that tightens the ring to the base can interfere with each other. But once everything is set, then it's just a matter of keeping the ring screws snug.

I have Talley on everything except my Rugers where I use Alaskan Arms Ruger specific bases. They both work great and the customer service at both companies has been great. The QD levers on the Talley are a pita but i don't take my scopes off very often anyway

See you are from Denmark - see quite a few Danes where I stalk in Scotland - great hunters.
The Harkilia stuff works well in Africa - I have a bit for use here in UK.
I am again looking for 600 Nitro dies preferably RCBS 1 inch. The set I purchased previously are 1 1/2 inch and do not fit my die. Another member has graciously taken them off my hands. If anyone happens to have a set of 600 Nitro Dies that will fit my Rockchucker Supreme RCBS press, please shoot me a message and thanks in advance for any assistance you may have to offer!
I have not posted any items for sale on this forum and will not every put anything for sale. My account was hacked and I've worked with the admin to get things shut down.
