Got back last week after Christmas and new year....had been told dam was pretty full....so drove to the dam...but road was too wet so parked and walked the rest..quite a short distance...and was very surprised....the dam was full rom just rainfall and was flowing out of the spillway...never seen that before. Normally only fills full if river gets high enough to flow in through spillway and fill it....on river side of dam still needs to come up 6 or so feet to get to spillway... where stopped the cruiser..

From dam wall looking up dam...can't see full extent of the dam as it goes quite a bit further up slightly in a curve

Water level on dam side is only around 3ft or so below top of wall....

River side...trees in mid distance are river Bank

Last time dam was full was full and overflowing was March 2022...year before last dried up for first time ..rains filled it a bit...but nearly dried by late last year..only small amount of water....but so with not great rains takes around 3 years to go dry if have low rainfall...

Two photos taken from roughly same place on dam wall...this one around Dec or jan last year

I hope this is a good sign and good for the habitat. (y)

Fed up with rain.....can't really drive anywhere as bugger up the roads, and walking in mud and flooded ruts on roads isn't my idea of fun either.... even if we get below average rains here it's still around 800 to 900ml....so still get plenty of grass ..Bush growth etc...16km of river means nothing is going to go thirsty.....other day photo of manager when we walked to dam....couple more months and be head height.....or more....

That's a lot of water and green. The road in must be horrible. You're going to have your work cut out for you burning later in the year.

What sling studs do those swivels fit ? They look to be quite a bit wider than the standard modern swivels. They may be just what I need for my Remington 30 Express wide swivel studs. Can you measure the pin diameter ?
