Leopard and Buffalo.

Well not a Boddington special edition Buffalo , so maybe more correctly just 450/400 3". It is quickly become my favorite rifle on the deer lease. I bought it to take to SA for Cape Buffalo, but the wife says I am to old and decrepit to go. I feel the old, but not the decrepit. I have taken deer and hogs with that gun.

The Leopard works good on Deer. But I got rid of the Swarovski and found nice old Leupold 4X. I could not get proper eye relief with the Swarovski. Nothing wrong with Swarovski, but it just didn't work on this rifle.
Never too old for Africa!

Having had a bunch of Ruger No.1’s over the years, here are a few of them.
A 24” Lipseys 45-70
A stainless 257 Robert’s.
The Boddington set. 7X57, 300 H&H, 375 Ruger, 450-400 NE & 450 NE
Regretfully I no longer own these rifles.

Not in the same league as those listed above, but it's a Ruger #1 Doug Turnbull 475 Wildcat
Pretty tough competition when a Doug Turnbull is considered, "Not I the same league as those listed above" lol. Really enjoying this thread.

It reminds me of a rooster that found an ostrich egg and brought it back to the hen house, just to "show them what folks in other places are doing."

Not as impressive as many of the ones before but a few months ago got into black power cartridge rifles with a pedersoli 45-120. This was a picture after shooting the furthest I’ve shot with it at 650 yards. And I got a hit on the third shot too which is not bad. My goal is to do 1000 yards in a reasonable number of shots taken.

Here is a kind of rare single shot stalking rifle that I have, it is a Chapuis Oural chambered in 7X65 R.
This one was engraved by Jean Marie Smets.

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
