Show off your 100-year-old guns

This one is a 44 caliber percussion plains rifle first owned by my great great grandfather C. and then handed down to my great-grandfather W. who was born in 1875 and lived until the early 1970s. He was the first person to take me out hunting from age 3 until 5 when he passed away. He used this gun up until the end and I have one of his deer we took together hanging next to the rifle. The action was made by Bell in London but the barrel was replaced by a gunsmith in Wilkes-Barre PA we will just generally say the gun is 175 years old. I have been told to take the gun to the infamous Dixon's muzzleloader shop to have them go over it so that I may shoot one more deer with it in my great-grandfather's honor. Now the sad part... My family has been in America since 1630 (we'll call it British East America at that time lol). There was another but sadly I parted with it to fund a divorce nearly 25 years ago. That one was also a rifle but a long rifle with an even older nickel plated English flintlock action. I don't believe they bought that one I believe they took it from an ailing gent in a red coat c.1770s. I had to decide between the two this one my great-grandfather and I hunted with and the other one it was worth more money. That's their hunting cabin in the late 1800s my great-great-grandfather is standing holding this rifle and my great-grandfather is the boy in the doorway. We still own that property.

Not a sporting firearm, but I EDC (Every Day Carry) a Webley & Scott Model 1921 in .32 ACP ever since the Indo-Pak war of 1971.

Officers were allowed to purchase their own sidearms during the war from the firearms depository in Gilatola military cantonment.

It still shoots sharp & straight.

Have hunted with a few 100+ year old guns. The oldest have been these two. Never popped a musket cap with either while hunting- an original 175-year-old 54 caliber M 1841 "Mississippi" rifle and an original 161-year-old 58 caliber M 1863 Remington "Zouave" rifle.

Also shown is an original US Peace flask that was correct issue with the M 1841.

I have quite a number of older military weapons, but I'll list a few of those with which I have actually hunted or used in tower shoots or the Pigeon ring.

A pair from opposite sides of the First World War, reborn as sporting rifles: Top is my Springfield 1903 made at Rock Island, and bottom is a Steyr-Mannlicher 95/30 made in the old Austria-Hungarian Empire.

Certus, .450 nitro, 1905:
Winchester 1892, .25-20, 1910. Bores pretty scruffy on this maybe get relined in future. Need to check how it shoots but needs a taller front sight (.35 current).

1820ish English Double 20 bore. I have shot it in both Flintlock & Percussion mode. A very unique firearm.

Revolutionary war. Carried by a French officer. Two double .50 calibers. One barrel's breech is substantially eroded indicating lots of use. He must have been a good shot and didn't need the other three barrels very often.

When I'm hunting with muzzle loaders this is my hunting outfit. I've got one of the 50's in a holster on my Baldric, along with a French hunting sword circa late 1600's, and a Bowie knife. An axe and another smaller knife on the back of my hunting bag.

My oldest, 300-400 years old (probably closer to 300). Fully functional except the wheel doesn't spin fast enough for the agate to throw sparks. I need to find someone that is very knowledgable on Wheellocks. then she goes hunting.

I realize how hard the bug has bit. I’m on the cusp of safari #2 and I’m looking to plan #3 with my 11 year old a year from now while looking at my work schedule for overtime and computing the math of how many shifts are needed….

I'd like to get some too.

My wife (a biologist, like me) had to have a melanoma removed from her arm last fall.

Hallo Marius- do you have possibilities for stags in September during the roar? Where are your hunting areas in Romania?

I'm about ready to pull the trigger on another rifle but would love to see your rifle first, any way you could forward a pic or two?
Thanks,
