Thank you. I'll send you a link via PM
Tremendously talented artist
Do you have more of these prints left Darrel?
Yes. They are still available
This one was fun. My goal here was to make the approaching storm the real subject of the artwork. I'll have to try something similar with an African theme...
Here is a work in progress shot of something I'm working on.
Here is a little video of the work in progress on the cape buffalo. I'm new to the idea of recording my progress, so hopefully the quality will get better as I figure out what I'm doing. At least, this will give you guys some idea of what my process is.
Hope I see my commissioned work soon.
It's one of the projects on my desk right now.
Very nice work I’ll have to look for your site
Cape Buffalo on water buffalo horn with a handmade walnut and brass stand.
Maybe it's a sickness...
After spending 8 hours per day in the shop working on scrimshaw, I've been going home and working on drawings after dinner. Here is one that I've been working on that is almost finished.
Thank you. I'm pretty happy with it so far.
Here is the reason I did the drawing. It's a Christmas gift for my sister in law, but I'm considering doing a limited edition of boxes with a slightly different layout. What do you guys think? Maybe an edition of 25?
Absolutely awesome artwork! The only other places I've seen scrimshaw is in the seaport museums of Connecticut & Massachusetts, USA.
Thank you. I worked out of Southern California for the past 30 years, but I'm now located on Martha's Vineyard in MA.
Been there! My father grew up in W. Newton Mass. He and my mother honeymooned on Cape Cod. Visits to the grandparents often included day trips to the islands.
