A rhino has been poached and it's horn removed near Windhoek on Friday.
The latest incident of rhino poaching were confirmed yesterday by the head of the
Namibian police (Nampol), adj.komm. Edwin Kanguatjivi.
This rhino is one of two rhinos that is on a farm near Aris, southeast of
the capital was shot. The other rhino is apparently wounded but will survive the attack.
According to Kanguatjivi, a joint investigation is being conducted by Nampol and the Ministry of Environment and Tourism.
"No further information is available," he said.
According to the spokesman for the ministry, Mr. Romeo Muyunda, brings it to the country's rhino poaching figure at 28 this year standing opposite 2016's 60th.
With anti-tipping units and security stuck in the country's national parks to prevent wild poaching,
Private farms and lodges with rhinos are increasingly targeted.

Die jongste voorval van renosterstropery is gister deur die skakelhoof van die
Namibiese polisie (Nampol), adj.komm. Edwin Kanguatjivi, bevestig.
Dié renoster is een van twee renosters wat op 'n plaas naby Aris, suidoos van
die hoofstad, geskiet is. Die ander renoster is glo gekwes, maar gaan die
aanval oorleef.
Volgens Kanguatjivi word 'n gesamentlike ondersoek tans deur Nampol en die ministerie van die omgewing en toerisme uitgevoer.
"Geen verdere inligting is beskikbaar nie," het hy gesê .
Volgens die woordvoerder van die ministerie, mnr. Romeo Muyunda, bring dit die land se renosterstropingsyfer op 28 vanjaar te
staan, teenoor 2016 se 60.
Met teenstropingseenhede en sekuriteit wat in die land se nasionale parke opgeskerp is om wildstropery te voorkom, word
private plase en lodges met renosters toenemend geteiken.
