Up for sale is a Pre-64 Winchester Model 70 Westerner in .264 Win Mag from 1963. Bolt serial number matches the receiver serial number.

I bought this rifle as part of a lot of guns from a single seller. It is missing the Rear Lyman 16B Sight and the Front Winchester 103C Sight. Original replacements can be had for $50-100 total depending on condition.

The stock is original and doesn’t appear refinished. If has a handful of handling/wear marks, with great checkering and has a white-line buttpad and no cracks in the stock. Blueing is good but not perfect. Forward of the stock there is some freckling (mainly on the top), and one area of bluing wear in the underside. I included photos of the freckling and underside barrel wear. Bottom metal shows a little blueing wear towards the edges. Has a redfield base/ring set installed.

That is a great deal on a true classic!

Might be helpful to tell the condition of the barrels rifling and throat? And take pics of them if possible…
One of my favorites!

Bore is bright and shinny with pronounced rifling. I’ll try to snag some photos of the bore/chamber for those interested.

Bump …

Adding some photos of the chamber area, a shot down the bore, photos of the bolt, as well as a photo of a Q-Tip after swabbing the chamber.

I am interested…How many rounds do you think has been through it? Rifling in lands and grooves look good? Any comments on how she shoots/groups?

Lands and grooves look good. I honestly have no idea how many rounds have been through the rifle since I bought it with a couple other guns and I'd hate to even speculate. I've never personally shot this rifle and can't comment on how is shoots/groups. Bolt wear is definitely more than just handling.

The other couple of rifles I bought in this group of guns were disgustingly dirty including a 375. They all showed more wear on the bolts and looked like they hadn't been cleaned in years. Both the chambers and bores were very dirty. Unlike the others, this rifle had almost no fouling in the chamber area and along the bolt/bolt face. Looking down the barrel it's clean and shiny, whereas I could see fouling in the other barrels. I tried to show that with the Q-Tip. Not sure if the owner didn't shoot this gun compared to the others or what.

Feel free to PM me and I'll give you my cell. More than willing to Facetime with you so you can try to get a better look at the gun.
