We can all laugh at Trump's seemingly crazy suggestion that Fausti investigate injecting disinfectant or swallowing UV light as possible cures for COVID. But signing what amounts to an executive order directing the Navy to change carrier plane launching to a technology about which he obviously knows nothing simply because he believes anything digital is "bad" is ... well ... yes ... deranged. And oh yeah ... also because he's convinced himself outdated steam catapults are cheaper. Sopwith Camel biplanes would doubtless be cheaper to build than fighter jets so the Navy should adopt those too? I'm sure if someone blew the right amount of smoke up Trump's arse he would believe that nonsense is also true and sign another directive. But hey, according to him he's an expert on military strategy and technology ... because he's a graduate of a high school military academy reform school.

To me it is incomprehensible that anyone with a brain in their head could keep making excuses for Trump's bizarre behaviour.

I’m shocked that Harris polls so high. I would have thought more dems would be blaming her for handing Trump such an overwhelming victory in 2024. She did worse than Hillary Clinton in every way.

I’d consider any politician with that record to be politically radioactive.

I think it’s a sign that for all Trump’s issues, democrats probably shouldn’t take their midterm chances as a given. They still seem kind of rudderless as a party. Being “not Trump” wasn’t enough in ‘24 and I don’t think they’ve moved much past that in the last two years.

You and I are on opposite ends of the political spectrum… but we often see eye to eye.. it’s kinds of a cool dynamic in my opinion..

I’ve been pretty clear in the past… there is a lot I don’t like about Trump.. but given the choice between Harris and a moldy grapefruit.. I’d vote for the grapefruit… which is why Trump got my vote…

The D party’s biggest problem IMO is the most vocal members of the party like Newsome, Harris, AOC, etc are every bit as divisive as Trump.. and just as much out on the fringe…

It’s going to take a long time, or another major unifying event like 9/11 before the country starts coming back together again if both parties keep moving to the far left and right rather than trying to find some middle ground..

I’m hopeful someone like Rubio is who ends up on the top of the next R ticket rather Vance.. while I think Rubio (as an example only.. it doesn’t have to be him specifically) he is far more unifying and closer to a centrist than some of the other potential R candidates..

This makes complete sense. Some of these guys have kicked more doors in and shot more people in real life situations in one night, compared to the amount of action a SWAT team officer would see in a 30 yr career. Let alone the typical LEO low level of training and effectiveness.

I would add Pompeo to the list of potential R Candidates who can be unifying. The guy is intelligent too.
