What makes Trump's lack of logic even more lacking is the burning forests in California were managed by the federal US Forest Service not the "libtard" California state Democrats. Absolutely doesn't have a clue. Anyway, the problem with fires in California is not mismanagement of forests but rather failing to control real estate developers like Trump from building homes and communities in places with known extreme fire history ... even before global warming.

Hard to believe Americans would vote someone that utterly stupid in for a SECOND term as president. And then you wonder why this so called war in Iran is about as well thought out as ballroom dancing physiotherapy for quadriplegics. What did you expect? I could be wrong. 1988 was a while back, buy didn't the ship warn the plane that they were approaching a US Naval vessel and to alter their course? As per usual with extremists, they ignored the warning. If that is what happened, could there have been any other ending?

The captain of the cruiser was not relieved of command or charged. However, he also was never promoted to admiral. He and his operations team concluded the radar contact was an F-14. They did indeed issue several warnings though most were on a military "guard" channel which was not monitored by civilian aircraft. However, the real culprit was somehow determining that the aircraft's ascending flight path out of Bandar Abbas was a descending one. I do not believe it was ever determined if this was a technical glitch of the then new Aegis radar system or operator confusion or combination of the two.

There is no evidence that the crew of the airbus were "extremists." They were a normal crew taking off on a regularly scheduled civilian flight in a Airbus widebody with 274 passengers on the international flight path from that airport. The profile between it and an F-14 is rather different. Moreover, the nearby guided -missile frigate USS Sides non-concurred with the Vincennes declaring the aircraft non-hostile.

The point is that the US acknowledged its responsibility, however grudgingly, and negotiated a reparations payment to the victim's families.

We also would not try to hide some military catastrophe involving TWA-800.

Stuff happens. The last THAAD target, Hera launch I was involved with, (surplus Minuteman II parts), from Ft Wngate to WSMR was about 1998? Too long ago so faded to CRS. Someone failed to double check the second stage ignition circuit! The second stage motor failed to fire. No problem other than an expensive, time consuming failure. The booster stage and second stage target warhead vehicle came down within the sparsely populated, pre-planned booster recovery zone in the general area of Magdalena NM.

The coolest things to watch reference the Pershing tests into targets at WSMR were the high velocity re-entries during night launches. The test warheads coming in from suborbital trajectories, originating from Ft Wingate or Green River, looked just like large meteors arching into the ground targets at WSMR.

Harris was and is absolutely a fool. It is stunning to me that you would say she isn't.

I am not going to argue about smartness of Harris. She was smart enough to cultivate Willie Brown's willy and get her start in politics leading to CA Attorney General, Senator and VP. Not to mention six figure patronage committee memberships she got early on.

However, her extreme left and woke policy viewpoint is much worse than Trump's bluster. You are isolated in your cabin up North and would not have been affected by what she would have done. Those that are still working, trying to build businesses, own guns and/or leave a legacy behind would have been hurt.

What I would suggest a logical person should take from it is this country's transparency with regard to such incidents and the silliness of believing the looney toons who claim we deviously and impossibly hid something with respect to the TWA disaster.

I'm not commenting on any of the air incidents except to say that anniversaries tend to cause folks to crawl out of the woodwork, especially these days.

One thing I enjoy about this forum in general is reading intel and debriefs on random topics from past and present pros. But it's a paradox, and reminds me of the line from JFK...
