1) I've made this very argument on this very forum before and it fell upon deaf ears. I don't recall you ever backing me up previously when I said this very statement. But it's good to know that at least you believe in it.

2) I recall countless Republican politicians and voters responding to this very argument when Trump ran the first time; when asked about it by reporters they claimed that it was because he's a "savvy businessman," I heard nothing but crickets regarding the immorality of it at the time, nor now.

3) I'm simply continuing to call out the flaming double standards present on this forum, nothing more.

My points were twofold:

1.) A former president's cronies screwed over workers on a privately funded, non-profit library. Did the Reagan library screw contractors? How about the Carter? How about W's? Yeah, they didn't.

Why does the type of project matter? Why does it matter if they are a current, former, or future president, or a private citizen? Do you even have any evidence that Obama directed any of it? That he even knew about it? If I made these accusations on here everyone would demand that I provide evidence and cite my sources.

2.) The reason for the theft is that "these aren't your father's democrats", they are Marxist thugs that can't even take care of contractors that are historically democrat voters. That's not a mistake, its a different kind of democrat which I described in detail over a 30 year timeline that changed the Illinois Democrat Party from a Mafia enterprise that was tolerable into a Marxist enterprise that is not.

That's simply right-wing revisionist history. I assume you are referring to the 1995 CRA re-writes. Those lowered the downpayment amount from 20% to 3%. They didn't "force lenders to write loans for people that couldn't pay them back." There is an inherent increase in risk when one has a lower downpayment. But look at the sub-prime mortgages as a percent of total. They were historically between 5-9%. They didn't balloon to 20% until 2004, who was president then? The total value also increase by 500% from 2000 to 2005. It was the expansion of sub-prime CDOs that fueled it.

Let's say that I buy this as the main reason (I don't, because it was a minor contributor). But remind me again. Who was president in the year 2001? 2002? 2003? 2004? 2005? 2006? 2007? I don't recall the GW Bush administration rolling back Clinton's housing policies and re-writing the regulations. Quite the opposite. I recall Bush's "Ownership Society" and the American Dream Downpayment Initiatives...among others, pushing the idea of home ownership...hard.

Almost 30 million people have health insurance who would otherwise go without because of the ACA. It would be even higher if not for the remaining Republican hold-out states regarding Medicaid expansion. It has also prevented millions of bankruptcies. You are welcome, no thank you required.
