Have you ever held anyone down and forcibly given them drugs to get them addicted because I can assure you I haven’t and I’d be willing to bet the rest of the brethren on AH hasn’t either. To say that the right has put black males in prison is to shift the responsibility for their own actions away from them and onto those who were forced to sentence them. Every one of them had the choice of not doing drugs.

But you're literally putting black males in prison...while complaining about the loss of family structure. By your same logic, every politician had the choice to not criminalize those activities. Creating laws to intentionally imprison people you disagree with, for activities that were historically legal, and then blaming them for your choices is peak mental gymnastics. And then you try to deflect blame onto the "welfare state." And to do so, one of you cites an economist who believes in the liberalization of drug policy. And who correctly cites prohibition as an example.

Who needs drugs when I can endlessly free-base right-wing hypocrisy and conspiracy theories on this forum.

Dont take the bait, this is a ridiculous argument, that the decline of the family structure is based on black men being put in prison. Sowell mostly has argued the decriminalization of Marijuana. Which is we look at recent trends, 70% of those being put in jail for Marijuana possession were Hispanic and had an average of a 5 month sentence.

This is not good news for the USA and Trump can only blame himself for it. Frankly, from Canada’s perspective, this should have happened a long time ago. My only criticism would be the size. I would build it bigger, but perhaps they’re designing it with expansion capability.

The other thing Canada should be looking at is refining capacity in Hardisty with export of refined products into the western US. This would effectively move jobs and value creation north of the border, shuttering US refineries.

Hardisty doesn’t really have much access to fresh water. The Battle River isn’t the mightiest river around, and can be walked across in the summer.
Hence the industrial heartland around the Fort Saskatchewan area just off of the North Saskatchewan. Plenty of raw water to feed those boilers.

I have read a lot of Sowell, and the statistics used in his short essays were mostly discussing the case for the legalization of marijuana specifically compared to the alcohol and medicatically prescribed opiates.

You don't think that the term "big government" can apply to a state, as well as the federal government? Have you seen the state of California's budget? Besides, your source was still only about Marijuana, hence that 97% only pertains to pot convictions, and not harder drugs. Which would be more likely to get someone charged and convicted, with a longer prison sentence than pot alone.

But if you want more examples of big government republican policies, I can provide you with those as well. I don't want to get off topic any more though, as you have indicated in your other post that it seems to bother you. We'll stay on one topic for now.

I brought up drugs to directly refute what someone else said about LBJ's war on poverty. It's directly related to the discussion of what is the cause of broken black families in America. How is that not relevant to what I was discussing with @Killingtime ?

Following your post structure, orphans become drug addicts, the war on drugs is bad because it puts black fathers in jail, and that is why we have single parents, but it is all big government republicans fault. Or did you want the federal government to do more but you don't trust the federal government?

I obviously don’t know the answer to your question, but I have to say that that was a ridiculous call, and I am glad it was overturned. It certainly deserved a yellow, but there is no way the intent was there to justify a red.
