Ya know saying someone is a dick without knowing them really doesn't further any discussion. Yes Trump shows many signs of diskishness in public. It is interesting that the consensus of many that have had that same opinion then actually met the guy on a personal level have quite the opposite view; Bill Maher is a good example. Trump displays many distasteful traits publicly, and he may in fact be a dick, but all I've heard is that on a personal level he's actually pleasant. That's hearsay of course and largely depends on a persons definition of being a dick.

Yup outward appearances are seldom the same as the man behind closed doors. The gms’s and few CEO’s I’ve meet in various fields all have a certain persona they display while at work. Most have been family men when you deal with them on a personal level. I’m sure many of the men on this forum have led in some capacity and I’m sure none have been pleasant to be around at all time in that venture.

How many Americans have died from lack of healthcare? How many have died because they were poor and couldn't afford to pay the capitalist machine? How many have died because they couldn't afford insulin? How many prisoners die because politicians don't want to pay for their healthcare needs? How about drug addicts being refused treatment? How many cops have I heard boasting about refusing to carry Narcan?

But then again, it's mostly the poor, indigent, drug addicts, and criminals....so who cares, right?

We could do this all day, spare us all the false outrage.

To answer your question, no, I don't think drug/alcohol abuse of a parent should be held against a child. Now answer my question about what is the plan (if any) regarding the significant assistance that would be required if abortion was illegal and 1million + more children are born, some of which would become wards of the state.

Just spitballing so ideas of the top of my head in no particular order and remember I’m Canadian so this out side looking in but here goes:

Remove all subsidies on “green” initiatives you can pay for all of your own Tesla and required infrastructure.

Remove all government assistance in wind farm/solar farms that would never be cost effective without subsidies.

Deny funding to any and all groups that play gender politics and instead go back to teaching there are only two genders in schools. Teach contraceptive use in schools yearly and instead of having tampons/pads available in washrooms designated for men try having free condoms there.

Deport the illegals that are weighing down your political systems and strongly in force your boarders. Seize the property of deported illegals as the proceeds of crime and use that to help fund orphanages.

Institute foreign legion units in the military were in Lou of payment potential immigrants can be housed and fed for a set period of time and deployed as needed. They would obviously need to be integrated into existing united for supervision and training but they could be used to lower the costs of troops while also giving them the chance to earn citizenship through military service. Over the set period of time they would also become indoctrinated to the American way of life.

I’m sure I could come up with more but those will get you started.

And how many of the 331,000 children in foster care right now have you all adopted? I mean, if you all feel so strongly about abortion, I would like to know what you're all doing to help the situation regarding unwanted children in our society right now? Especially because if, and when abortion is outlawed in the US, those numbers would increase exponentially. What plan of action do you all have ready to implement in such a case, I'd really like to know.

Half of all teens that age out of the system will become homeless by 26. Drug/alcohol abuse is higher than the national average, crime rates too. Moralizing against abortion is easy, coming up with solutions is much harder.

Big Easy what are your feelings on LBJ setting up policy to systematically destroy families? The church historically was responsible for helping children and widows from the early 20th century back. And ironically the robber baron era I believe had the most philanthropy. All of this in a time when goverment wasn’t involved. It seems to me that as goverment has taken the “burden” on its only gotten worse. What were the orphan rates before abortion was made legal? Those numbers would be interesting to know.. though probably tainted from all the men who died in this country over three major wars.
Many people at my church have adopted children and my wife has helped many at a place that offers free medical checks for expecting women who were thinking of abortion with the caveat that you see a councilor and discuss not getting one… those women never end up aborting. I forget the stat but I do remember it’s incredibly high the amount of women who consider an abortion and then choose not to once they see a sonogram.

Calling you the NC Dumb Ass may have been inappropriate. I can excuse being dumb because it implies a condition that one is born with so is beyond their control. Blindly supporting abortion reflects a personal choice and philosophy I cannot suffer. Those with this bearing possess a rotted soul and no moral compass. So again I ask, more pointed this time, what happened in those 125 years between 1847-1973? Was the US overrun with orphans or foster children? Was there some crisis about how to make people responsible for their actions (aka, raise the children you created)? Your logic is flawed.

No. There started to be a large movement against them once the AMA was founded, by doctors, in 1847. Not that they all immediately became illegal. Illegal in almost every state didn't occur until the 1880s. But they weren't entirely illegal even then.

Again, no they weren't, these are things you can easily look up. Abortion was still allowed in restricted instances, and there was a significant underground "black market" for such services. Hundreds of thousands of abortions were performed every year, even when it was illegal.

Even in the 60s and early 70s before the Roe decision, the official incident rate for abortions (excluding illegal ones) was roughly 5/1,000 woman. Now its 15/1,000 woman. So even prior to the 73 decision about 1/3 as many legal abortions were conducted as there are today, population adjusted. Add in the illegal ones and it's much closer to todays numbers.

Jesus can't you read even a little? Did they not have history books in you school? The first American orphanage was in 1729, there were 56 by 1850, and by 1900 there were more than 1,000 orphanages in America. Containing hundreds of thousands of children. A rate of 3-5x as many as today, depending upon whose numbers you follow. They were also regularly abused and forced into a brutal child labor system.

For every sad orphan story you can quote im sure I could match it with a success story if I was inclined to waste the time. Example one the leader of the official opposition in Canada is adopted.

Regardless of the outcome weather it be joy or sorrow the child has to be alive in order to experience either. A child no matter there circumstances at birth has a chance to make a better life for Themselves as an adult. Murdering that child in the womb robs them of ever experiencing happiness and I simply can’t see how that could be justified on the chance they could be raised in less than ideal circumstances.

Regarding your first two ideas about green initiative removals, these were already removed by Trump's BBB last summer. So those are already gone. Regarding defunding groups that play "gender politics," I don't even know what you are referring to. Please list some examples about our federal tax dollars that are currently going towards such things.

Thats a nice thought, and I agree with you here...Unfortunately such efforts are generally ILLEGAL in most REPUBLICAN run states. There are roughly 17 states that require abstinence only sex education. Guess which political party controls those states? So they wont even teach teenagers about safe sex and contraceptives, much less give them out for free. That's a nice idea you had, too bad the republicans are against it.
