I’m not sure that any of that contradicts what I said. My first sentence clearly stated, “While some of it was intentional, the vast majority of the death from old world disease was accidental.”

The Americas had already been largely depopulated by 1763 and much of that happened without direct European contact. The accidentally introduced diseases that quickly spread, wiping out much of the population of the Americas. That doesn’t preclude occasional instances of intentional infection.

Biological warfare is a misleading terminology. A lot of people believe disease killed large swaths of natives in Mexico and America(I agree with that belief) but it was by mere chance that they caught those diseases not for a malicious plan. It’s like when Europeans went to Africa for the first time and started dying from malaria and west Nile and god knows what else.

I don’t believe it had any impact on them. In the 1960’s A.R. Rao who studied smallpox found that it was only transmissible through the breath(airborne) so clothing wouldn’t have done anything to them.

There is a theory that as you have said the americas depopulation likely from the original Spaniard meeting is what led to the boom in the buffalo population. I can’t remember the book I read that in but I believe it was possibly Dan Flores who said it.

Oh it goes way back farther than that. The current debate on this thread concerning the treatment of American Indians and the extinction of the American Bison are good examples. The same type of City dwellers that are physically and psychologically detached from their food source began to raise Cain about what was going on out on the Great Plains.

I think we all agree that our natural resources should be used humanely and sustainability, but I don't think Governments and City dwelling academics are the best ones to determine how to accomplish that.
