You are correct. I had Talarico as my state rep. He is worse than Beto but he should not be underestimated. He has a great deal of support, at least where I live. Republicans and Independents need to come together and elect a Senator whichever candidate gets the nomination. I personally have little use for Cornyn but he is several orders of magnitude better than Talarico would be. Paxton would be better as well. If need be I will hold my nose suppress my gag reflex and vote for whichever of the two is nominated.

What order did God create the kingdoms (ie plants, animals, man etc)? Is the Genesis 1 version correct or Genesis 2? In fact why does the bible contain two slightly different but each complete creation stories within Genesis?

There are some really great texts out there exploring how the bible was written and who wrote it. They are really worth an open minded read.

From those two accounts it’s easily inferred that Judas hanged himself and his body hung there until it started decomposing and for whatever reason fell and burst open. Luke says Judas bought the field but earlier it says the Pharisees did. So which is correct? The answer is apparently it was accepted that Judas did. It was his wages that bought it as the Pharisees wouldn’t take it back. Judas threw it to them and took off so it’s still viewed as Judas having paid for the field. CS Lewis also believed in the slap in the face of Christ that is the false teaching of purgatory..

Have you ever actually researched the numbers of stables issue? Look it up and get back to me.

"it was accepted" Does not quite get you to Biblical perfection. There are inconsistencies there even by your description. Personally I find it hard to believe that Luke just forgot to mention that Judas had hung himself.

I have a hard time comprehending a mind that thinks wars have to be symmetrical. That said, it is certainly prevalent among American liberals and many in Europe.

After October 7 Israel said the destruction and ouster of Hamas was a condition for ending the war. Hamas chose to fight on regardless of the suffering of their civilians who elected them to power. Hamas basically fought until they could fight no more and agreed to a ceasefire after they were basically destroyed.

The Arabs turned down multiple deals that would allow them to have their own country. They continued for decades to randomly attack Israel until Israel said they had enough and would end everything. Should Israel only kill one for one to keep the war symmetrical and then have to deal with the same problem in another ten years.

My father was in Nuremberg with orders to the Pacific Theater on VJ Day. An estimated 1m American casualties were expected in the invasion of the main-islands . Personally I am happy the atomic bombs were used. As a citizen, as a father, as a grandfather, I want any war my country is involved in to be as asymmetrical as possible.

Without using the phrase “gods chosen people” tell me why the west should care so deeply about Israel?

-They were a group of people who had spread across the world and hadn’t had their own nation since 580ish BCE. And I mean a nation where they had full autonomy. If we are so concerned about displaced people’s, we aren’t handing the native Americans the keys tot he continent.

-“We worship the same god” Well so does Islam

-There’s the holocaust guilt, but there have been countless genocides before, and since the war without care

-It’s not like the Jews have ever been overly popular people in western society

-I understand the strategic importance of having an ally in the Middle East, but wouldn’t Ukraine be equally an important ally right now as its ground zero in keeping Russia in check?

-The UN HAD to understand the never ending shit storm that creating Israel would bring on the region, no?

And no, I don’t hate Israel, I just don’t care about it, and I don’t understand why I’m supposed to. And I don’t understand why we have to handle them with white gloves, and even the most insignificant slight is anti-Semitic.
