That was part of the 10 seconds of prevention. Just put a condom on.
As long as some schools push solely abstinence as birth control instead of comprehensive sex education that includes training in contraception and STD prevention there will be unintended pregnancies.

One would think that voting machines would be faster. I think it is the counting methodology and officials rather than the method of voting that causes the delays.

I'd hate to go back to the days of "hanging chad" ballots.

Also, all the early voting, 77 million votes as of yesterday, is paper ballots. However, almost everywhere they are not counted until the polls close, so I think that adds to the delay.

In CA one can cast a mail-in ballot on the day of the election and it will be counted when it arrives, that can add days to the final tally.

Probably one of the few things you and I agree on. Living in a country like the USA and having elections take this long to be determined is surprising.

The betting public seems to have again reversed itself. After the Iowa outlier, things swung the democrat way for about 24 hours. It is now trending solidly Trump again. This is not a scientific poll, but it does rather accurately represent a perception snapshot in time.

I read that there were two massive bets for Harris that changed the betting odds. Not sure if that is correct or not.

I saw that as well, though dems have been howling for a week that it was foreign betting in large amounts that was lifting Trump's numbers. :E Shrug:

The big problem is the states that can't provide results on election night. It may take Pennsylvania 2-3 days, and look how long Arizona took last time

Trump is right. Switch to all paper ballots, voter i.d, and we would know on election night what the results are. Just like France.
There has not been a definitive election of any president in my or your lifetime at the end of the day on Election Day. The most anyone can hope for is that one candidate concedes, therefore allowing the electorate to sleep well assuming they have closure.

Nothing is definitive until sometime on January sixth. The hemming and hawing over some legal imperative to have a winner named on election night is just silly. With every state having the right to count ballots any way they see fit it’s surprising we have a declared winner within a month.

In an election that’s anticipated to be decided on a razor thin margin it’s probably going to take some time to count every legal vote regardless of how anyone feels about the individual rules in any state. Were this a landslide election it would be pretty easy to determine the point at which all the uncounted ballots wouldn’t change the outcome. I would not blame either candidate for holding out until defeat is slapping them in the face before conceding. It’d be pretty embarrassing to have to Al Gore the loss (no take-backs).

Well that’s false. I don’t remember any election dispute for Obama. You know, that would be racist. :A Big Thanx:

I would have to disagree with you. 1980 being the best example. There have been a number of others.

A vigorous 6.5 Creedmoor or 243 Winchester debate would be a welcome distraction on Election Day. ;-)
So which one does Harris Shoot and which one does Waltz shoot?

Will this thread go away if Trump wins tonight? :ROFLMAO:
Not unless the Ukraine war ends as well....

BTW, how in tarnation did we decide to have elections at the beginning of deer season?! Leaving for camp in the morning...

Nugget here. A guide gave me the nickname as I looked similar to Nugent at the time. Hunting for over 50 years yet I am new to hunting in another country and its inherent game species. I plan to do archery. I have not yet ruled out the long iron as a tag-along for a stalk. I am still deciding on a short list of game. Not a marksman but better than average with powder and string.
