I just looked this up and at least most outlets are stating it was a "Poacher" not a hunter.

The main stream never hears about the mountain of others Poached almost daily.

What a massive animal. A shame cowards shot him. Last year we hunted in Limpopo at the lodge owned by Nico Erasmus and family. Nico also manages the game on a 17000 acre concession a few miles away. Because of poachers near that concession he had to have two young rhinos darted to collect DNA and to chip them. We went along to help! The bull that sired this calf was named Monty and he had a 35 inch horn. Sad to say poachers killed him and one of his cows back in March ! To bad we all weren't there to give them some lead. Again hunters didn't kill Monty poachers did. As a result the concession sold all the rhinos as it just wasn't safe to have them on the farm anymore! All so some idiot in China or Vietnam can get his d...

What do the poachers do with the ivory from an elephant tusk? Again ends up in China getting carved up for an ornament. What a pity and what a shame!

I have been told by the media that a big part of the problem is the oriental countries. Too bad we can't go there to "hunt the money". I bet the financiers would stop if THEY got shot at. Turn it into the wild west til they stop!
