I will be traveling to Vic Falls, Zim via Windoek and returning the same way. Due to flight connections I will have to spend a night in each direction in Windhoek. Can anyone advise what needs to be done in terms of paperwork for this? Can't believe I have to fill out temp import licenses both ways? Can the rifles be stored with the police in the airport overnight? or???

Thanks!

Jerome,

Thanks for the info. I thought there might have been a way around that, but as you say, it is simple.

I noticed that it states no solid point bullets. Does that means you can't take "solids" for Buffalo?

Cheers,

No solid point cartridge is allowed to be used on antelope or any other species in Namibia, however as I read it it does not mean that you cannot import or transit to or through Namibia with solids.

This is the exact answer my friends need to go to Botswana after arriving in Windhoek.

Namibia is so easy!

Namibia is so easy!

..just so you know, the 'solids' that they get really uptight about are the blatant 'military' type solids. I have never had any problems with large caliber (.375 and up) DG solids or my benchrest solids..

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Nice one there. I guided for mulies and elk for about 10 or so years in northern New Mexico.

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.
