on a lighter note...

Today an Australian gun writer Nick Harvey passed
He was an English man who migrated to Australia many years ago
His knowledge was outstanding
I think he was 93
Born in 1931
Nick was editor etc for Sporting Shooters magazine for must be 50 years plus
Rip Nick
@Dr Ray
When I read about Nick I rang @K95 Ken. They were great friends for many years and he confirmed what you said. Ken said he called him the last of the Mohicans as he was the last survivor of that era. Even his friend Elmer Keith called him young fella when they hunted together. Ken regaled a couple of stories about Elmer and Nick that had me laughing my head off
Like the time Nick, Elmer and a couple of others were out for the night . They heard the sound of screeching tyres and a speeding car . Apparently a lady had her hand bag stolen. Good ol Elmer pulled his jacket back and removed his 44mag and shot the shit out of the car. The local police came to a braking halt and knocked Elmer over and were about to arrest him. Elmer protested and gave them a tongue lashing telling them he was a deputy sheriff. Nick sure lived a colourful life and mixed freely with the great of the time. Nick was great in his own right and will be missed by many

I was in the Navy, a nuclear operator on an SSBN. This takes it up just one more notch... ;)

We have an Arab in our company, an elderly one. He's been hunting here for a long time. He told us about the first hunt.
Friends took him on a roundup. "I see: they are coming. I took aim, shouting to my neighbor: "who are we hunting, a moose or a wild boar?"
"Put down the gun, it's a huntsman with a dog."

nahhh....450-.400 3 inch NE
An employee at an LGS and I were talking about big bore rifles today. He told me the recoil from that cartridge out of a Ruger #1 was the worst he had ever experienced with any large bore. He said his arm went numb after two shots.

I’m not surprised. As beautiful as No 1’s are, the stock design and weight do not lend themselves to heavy recoiling rifles.

Just wanted to say thanks for the excellent customer service. Ordered some 9.3x62 brass and the delivery was a little short. An email through your website Contact Us link was replied to the next day with the tracking info for the correction. Good pricing coupled with great customer service will see returning customers every time. Thanks again!

I am righthanded, so not interested in the rifle, but I have a 375 RUM and 350 gr bullet loading data is very hard to come by. If you could reply with information regarding your loads I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Ray Boone, Leavenworth, WA
