on a lighter note...

I was wondering how so many didn’t get the meaning of that post. That saying is as old as light beer!
For all those unsophisticated Phillistines...

Sea sickness

Like standing in a hammock [emoji15]

Yeeaah....the hammock thing didn't work out with us either. It kept spinning us to the ground so we ended up just making out on the ground.

Here were no bugs by Cal Poly SLO but there was Abs and Pismo Clams that were very large. We would free dive for them in the surf. There were Rock Scallops, fish and crab that we would scuba dive for. We would take a really large pot (that I borrowed from the cafeteria) buy some potatoes, milk and such. Then have a fire on the beach make clam chowder and play volleyball. Or go back to the dorms and fire up the BBQ pits and cook there. Lots of fun. Wish I could still dive but medical stuff prevents it.
Man, that brings back memories. When I lived in Huntington Beach we dived the Channel Islands a lot for bugs, abs, lobsters. Many a dive boat to the outer islands. Pismo clams and the ones off HB were great.

Ooops....I have never heard that comparison before.

My bad...I was under the impression..one scenario... perhaps there was an over indulgence of alcohol involved and the canoe kept turning over from lack of balance...or excessive shifting ballast.:E Shrug: :P Swimmer:

Wonder if lobsters could be introduced to the west coast...
we have bugs. They are spiney bugs and very much fun to catch. You must use your hands only---no spears. The ones with the big claws are on the east coast.

My brother and I would take our boats out to the Channel Islands out of Ventura or a place sout of there and get bugs, scallops and fish. We live in the middle of the state in the Modesto area. Down south is about the only place to get Sheepshead fish. Many years ago we would get black, pink, green and red abs also. But the sate closed that. The lobster tasted great BBQ'ed right at the ocean.
