Not my fault, I was left unsupervized!

My daughter is making a wonderful recovery and has about 3 weeks on crutches yet, so about the time my wife comes home for good I'll be leaving for Alaska for 2 weeks. I guess we just weren't meant to be together much this winter.
So what are you coming to Alaska for if you don't mind me asking. I got caught boiling my sheep skull from my hunt this fall in the large pot in the kitchen. Needless to say she was not pleased and let me know it when she got home and I was like "What"! At least she was a little better a few days later after she came home with a stainless steel pot that she has wanted for a while to replace the one that she made me throw away for some unknown reason.

Stainless steel with a tri-metal bottom the only way to cook, especially skulls. My son and I are flying to Anchorage and then on to ST. Paul to hunt ducks and eiders, then back to Anchorage for a few days to celebrate his birthday, his 39th.

Yeah, I doubt that the wife would even let me look at her new stainless steel pot let alone boil a skull in it. Enjoy St. Paul Island. Never been there before but had a sister-in-law work out there at one of the weather stations for 3 years. Weather is unpredictable at best but the hunting is great. Hope you have a great time and Happy Birthday to your boy when it comes.

Well all good things must come to an end, my daughter just gave me a heads up that my wife is planning on coming home to spend the weekend with me before I head to Alaska. My daughter had a follow up visit with the doctor yesterday and she is now off of her crutches and able to walk with a foam boot, so I guess my wife figures she can leave her alone for a few days. So I guess I'll spend this evening tidying up around here.

Glad to hear your daughter is doing better.
Enjoy a little time with your bride and have a safe trip to AK.

A follow up on my daughters foot surgery - she had her 6 month follow up appt. yesterday with the surgeon and he is happy with the outcome and released her. For the first time in years she can walk and run pain free, modern medicine continues to amaze me. Thank you all for all the well wishes!

Great news!

Excellent! It’s tough on a parent to see a child suffer!

Great news! Send our regards to her.

So, what did you get her for Christmas?

For Christmas she got the covered porch swing that she has been wanting for a while, plus a few small odds and ends.

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Nice one there. I guided for mulies and elk for about 10 or so years in northern New Mexico.

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.
