No more PCR tests for the vaccinated to get into SA, Ramaphosa announces

And what might constitute a "valid vaccination certificate" for entry into RSA? A vaccination card? That's the only documentation my pharmacy provided after receiving the vaccinations. Or is something more nebulous needed? Maybe it needs to be notarized like a copy of your passport and 4457 form? LOL

I have all my vaccinations uploaded to my clear app. Does anyone know if SA will accept that as valid documentation?

that's good news, considering PCR can't distinguish between the common cold and covid 19.

Marius, as I noted in my post: "International standard" is what the RSA policy refers to.

I have provided examples of two definitions of "Fully Vaccinated" USA's CDC and the Government of Canada.

Sadly, the WHO site did not have a readily available example to provide.

Each country may choose some other definition. Thus far, the world's governments have been following the recommended dosages for the various vaccines from the manufacturers, as directed by ongoing research.
Some countries do not recognize a variety of vaccines. Ensure that the vaccine on your proof of vaccination is accepted in your intended travel destination.
Just had an American hunter, also an AH member call Delta. He gets on today. Sent me this Whatsapp. Ever changing goal posts.

That statement would actually follow the “fully vaccinated” definition provided in my post. The first shotS (plural) Not including boosters, which would be the Third shot, etc.

That's great, but I would like to see something in writing from RSA describing what exactly constitutes "fully vaccinated" for entry into their country? Is it the first vaccines and/or boosters? What documentation is required? Receiving a response from some US airline employee about these questions doesn't bring about a sense of confidence to me.

at this point, i'm not even clear on why anyone is still requiring proof of vaccination. we know for certain it doesn't prevent infection, and therefore doesn't prevent a vaxxed and infected person from spreading it. the only thing it does do is mitigate the illness for some people. there have been vaxxed who have ended up dying from covid 19, so it clearly doesn't mitigate the illness for all people.

PCR is an unreliable measure - as I said before, it cannot distinguish between the common cold and covid 19.

the evidence strongly suggests that covid 19 is bad juju for the obese and the elderly. people with no comorbidities account for about 5% of the deaths, which puts this in line with a typical strain of flu. about 95% of those who've died (in the US) from/with it have had an average of 4 comorbidities.

Just more government "let's pretend we're actually doing something useful in order to mollify the masses."

And put your mask back on! Ha! Ha!

I also see Moderna is coming out with a vaccine that helps against the four most prevalent cold viruses. Since the pandemic started this is the longest I have went without catching a flu or cold. Just one very mild case of covid that was mildly systematic four two days.

Interesting?

I can understand your desire for clarity. Risking a trip without a well defined policy is unnerving for many.
Sadly, Cyril did not make the news release with gazette detail.

The policy does refer to “international standards”. Those standards specify what fully vaccinated is, as noted in the examples.
When RSA departments get a chance, I’m sure the websites will catch up to current policy. When someone bumps into it, they can share it with us.
