New to me custom Husqvarna 9.3x62

Beautiful rifle.
Congratulations

Very very nice. And good on you for making the rifle the way you want it for your purposes. Which safety did you choose? I am sure Matt will do an excellent job. His custom cases for Talley rings look very nice.

Wow!!!!! Great find, very nice, Congrats, if you so choose, you can load:

320gr Woodleigh round nose Weldcores
320gr Woodleigh PP Weldcores
280gr CEB #13 flat nosed solids

With max charge of RL-17 the 320's run 2400 fps, the 280's with the same max charge of RL-17 run 2500 fps.
Hornady brass and FED-215 primers.

The 320gr PP Woodleighs are still packing 1800 fps a tic over 350 yards, very nice reach range should one ever need it.

Not a game species on this earth i wouldn't tackle with my 9.3x62mm Heym 98 Mauser with the above mentioned loads.

I use Big Game in my 9.3 with 286 North Forks and get 2505. It can be a powerhouse. Mine is also on a Husky 640 action.

Thanks again everyone. I have some PPU brass and 285grns to load up. I picked up some W748 to start with—looking for 2350fps—that should be plenty to start with and for black bear. I’m still new to reloading so tend to be conservative.

Matt is a very nice guy and his work looks very good. He’ll put a model 70 type on the husky for me.

The Husky is back from getting a few updates with Matt Roberts at MNR Custom. Matt installed a model 70 type safety, drilled and tapped with Talley bases and added a NECG pad for extra LOP.

I added a 30mm Leupold VX3 HD 1.5x5x20 with firedot reticle in QD rings and went to the range to sight in. Still some tweaking to do but really like the setup.

As expected, excellent work by Matt on the Husky. Looking forward to getting it in the woods this fall!

Most excellent, and beautiful too!

Beautiful gun, but please check the safety. Mine safety is worthless.

Beauty rifle and caliber! Congrats

I never thought husqvarna made rifles....Chainsaws and dirt bikes for sure!

You betcha that Husqvarna made rifles! Here's my Husqvarna Model 46 manufactured in 1930 chambered in 9.3x57.

Very nice. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Atticus,

Great rifle!!! Sorry, I asked before, but the magazine has a capacity of 5 round+1 in the chamber or 4+1?
The original Oberndorf Sporting Mauser had 5+1. The same the BRNO ZKK 600 and CZ 500.
But all Mauser 98 or FN Mauser I have seen have 4 +1.
This is of no consecuence for a hunting 9,3x62...

Thank you and congratulations for your rifle!

Had an excellent classifieds transaction with JoninCO. A truly honest and standup member. I wouldn't hesitate at all to deal with him again. Thanks, J!

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
