Found a landowner with 3 tags for 2023 Pronghorn season, so a good friend and I bought them and started prepping for the hunt. I brought my daughter on this hunt, her first out of state. Very different hunt on the wide open plain with long shots the norm. SW New Mexico grows some great pronghorns.

We used my Remington 700 Sendero 300 RUM with Zeiss 6.5x20 optic. Nosler Trophy Grade ammunition 180 grain Accubond running 3250 fps.

My daughter made a perfect 200 yard shot on a nice wide buck on a windy stormy afternoon.

My buck was taken early am dodging rain with a stiff wind at 400 yards. Not sure if it was luc or practice but I can claim it.

We both had nice one shot, no tracking required shots.

Congrats! Outstanding antelope for you both!

Those are great speed goats, congratulations

Congratulations to the both of you, well done!

Very nice, congrats!

Two nice Antelope - wide and good mass - Congratulations ! must’ve been a very memorable DYI hunt with your Daughter (the smile on her face says it all) AND she took a great trophy. Any hunt with your children is always extra “special”. Also nice that you Each made clean “one shot” kills (certainly used “enough gun”)

Beautiful bucks-congratulations! It would be fun to have them mounted together-

Wow! 2 nice pronghorn, congrats!

Very nice, thanks for sharing.

still on my wish list

Great looking animals! I am very happy for you both! Wonderful memories for you!

Congratulations to both you and your daughter! Your daughter out that bullet exactly in the right place!
Making her shoot a 300 RUM though… she must be a bad arse young lady! LOL

Brilliant! And now she will be a hunter for life!

Congratulations.
There's no better joy than hunting with your daughter or son.
Awesome pronghorns btw.

She is a keeper, did not raise her to be a door mat…LOL.
Thanks for the compliment.
That Sendero is a bull barrel with a break, probably weighs 13+ pounds with scope and shells, it is not that bad on recoil, about a 270 to me.

Good Afternoon,
How firm are you on your Dakota 416? I am highly interested but looking at a few different guns currently.

Best,
BJ

What is the minimum you would take.

I have a Chapuis 450-400 double that looks brand new and shoots well, never been hunted from what I can tell. I am willing to part with it as I have a 375 H&H Sodia on it's way from Dorleac & Dorleac. I am looking for $9,250 for it and if you are interested, I am happy to send you some pictures. Regards,
Steve
