The “Dakota Hunter” user name is from using Dakota Rifles if that’s what you mean by North or South.

You just had to post this now when I have a trophy bill coming soon. (Sigh). Beautiful rifle!

hopefully it will still be available on Monday so I can consult with my hunting partner, gotta see if it fits my leopold 2-7 compact

This is the CRF I believe? and what forms of payment do you accept? thanks
Brian

I apologize if I'm incorrect, but I believe that is an FN manufactured rifle, not New Haven. The serial number does not begin with a "G", which all New Haven manufactured M70s do. Not a knock on the rifle at all. Personally I prefer the FN guns.

If only this had the bolt handle on the "correct" side!

I suppose that settles it. But the serial number doesn't jive with a NH gun, and the bolt shroud is like the FN rifles. It would be interesting to know if the trigger is the traditional M70 type or the MOA (enclosed) trigger like the FNs. Also, does it have one piece or two piece bottom metal? The NH rifles have the two piece, FNs are one piece.

Got to be NH made! My apologies. Ive not seen one without the G prefix.

That's really interesting too! Never saw a NH gun with one piece bottom metal! From the factory that is.
Could very well be a FN gun that they built using leftover parts from the New Haven factory.

I suppose that’s possible too. Anyway, I’ve caused enough trouble at the sellers expense, I’ll butt out. A cool rifle regardless, and the possible blend of the New Haven an FN details make it even more interesting as a potential buyer, at least to me.

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
