I ordered a stock from Stocky's for my daughter's 10 22 September of last year. It has become a joke with actually receiving one. A few weeks ago they notified me they have a different style available. We said we would have a look and see how it felt and fit her, and we would keep if she liked it. Well the stock came in with a blemish and it is currently on the way back. She was ok with the design but wanted a traditional standard stock syle. So far the company has been ok to work with, nothing spectacular. Do you guys recommend or know of an aftermarket stock company that makes a drop in traditional style in laminated blue preferably. Also she is a lefty and that is an issue some are right handed only. I appreciate any help, John

Take a look at Boyds Gunstocks.
I did look there, most have some type of unneeded radical configuration. I wanted a nice traditional replacement from her plastic junk stock. The rimfire hunter seems like it would be ok. It was an effort by me to get her shooting more, so far it's a failure and it's now a joke. I'm not to pleased as this is going on a year in short order. I am close to getting a full custom and be done with it. But who knows the lead time, I haven't inquired.

If you don't mind doing the final fitting and finishing of a stock try Richards microfit

Is this the sporter barrel or bull?

Keystone makes a sport style for Ruger, not sure about left handed and I'm sure it's probably a 920 barrel. They sell on Stocky's though so you might already be dealing with it

IMO if you have the sporter barrel, the easiest (and best) thing to do is search for a factory wood stock (non barrel band version) on ebay or the gun parts websites. A laminate stock is unnecessarily heavy on an otherwise light rimfire

It took a while to find what I wanted on the site but the micro fit may be the way to go. Thanks all. John

John J, did you try eBay? They have several pre-owned factory wood stocks for around $50.00.
I have not. I was looking to do an upgrade for her and put something nice on the rifle. And it definitely turned into a project. If synthetic was the choice it would have been a done deal a long time ago. My premise was to get her to like her 22 more. She does enjoy shooting and hunting with it, but she will not go out of her way to do it. Like me and fishing, damn it's fun when I finally get out there. I figured some curb appeal and she may go shoot with us more. I'll have a look though, never know.

And mind you if they would have produced the stock I ordered, we wouldn't be having this conversation. 3 month back order and I was ok with that. Then they stopped producing.

John J, I put a Boyd's Laminated Thumbhole Stock on a 6.5 x 55 Swedish Mauser for my grandkids to use. It made the transition of the grip from the stock to the trigger a lot easier. The current user is almost 11 but he used the rifle very successfully at the age of 9. He took an adult doe at 65 yds. She took three bounds and dropped. I believe you can get the Laminated Stocks in Pink if that would float her boat.

I found Vince Heier custom 10 22's through a web search. I emailed and he recommended a few of his suppliers. Mike's stocks on Ebay was one of them, big selection. We found one she like so it's on the way. I'm hoping this one has no issues. Thanks all
