Yep, very cool given this flight is 6 or so years behind schedule and billions over budget. We haven’t had a lunar “flyby” since Apollo 13 in 1970. Hope all goes well.

The Artemis program is very impressive...lets cross our fingers for the launch..

Watched and watching. Freaking awesome!!

Odd thing to do and claim on April fools. It’s like they’re looking for scepticism

Perhaps I live with and around some really adventure-averse people, but no one I know or have asked would go into space if they were given an opportunity. I'd say yes in a heartbeat. How about you fine folks?

I like to say yes but I’m a hard no. If it’s on terra firma I’m good to go. If it’s in the air, in space or under the sea I’m not coming lol. If I didn’t have a wife and kid I might. I would get in a shark cage. Might sky dive too

I would like to experience those two.

I'll raise you one. I WILL go to space before I die. I've been saying it for years. I think Space Travel is my generations air travel. In just the last few decades its gone from impossible, to 10s of millions of dollars, down to hundreds of thousands of dollars.

It's very conceivable that it will be cost in the 10s of thousands range by the end of this decade or mid next decade. Similar or even less money that people on this forum pay for DG hunts right now.

Reusability of the components is the key. That weird, wily South African decided to "leak" the announcement of Space X's IPO today to maximize visibility. I may disagree with how he chooses to lead his life, but Space X (and to a lesser degree Blue Origin) could be the Pan Am or BOAC of the next several decades.

I hope you’re right. Incredible time to live in

Is it? I'm not impressed, at all. $100 Billion dollars and 14 years (and counting) to do something we did 50 years ago? With essentially the same physical rocket technology we did it with then?

As my post above states, I'm all in on space travel, hell even a colony on the moon. But the Artemis program exists to keep people employed, mostly in red welfare states that have no other major industry. It exist because of Lobbyists and Politicians, not because its the best, cheapest, safest or most efficient way to accomplish the goal.

Each launch will cost AT LEAST 4 billion dollars and every part and piece will lay on the ocean floor for eternity or get thrown in the trash. Nothing about it is new, innovative, game changing, or better than what we could do decades ago. Its government waste at its absolute worst.

It cant lift much more capacity than the current Falcon Heavy Rockets do (without booster recovery) For reference a Falcon Heavy launch, fully expendable, costs less than $200 million. Or 1/20th the cost per launch. That's correct, 5% of the cost or 95% cheaper for essentially the same capability.

Falcon Heavy will have more than TWICE the lift capacity and also be fully reusable. We dont have any real world per launch costs yet, but I'm certain it will be less than $4 billion a pop.

The Artemis Program and SLS are Big Government waste in the clearest, worst form.

Its like the government saying they're going to get into the auto business with the goal of creating a fuel efficient vehicle. Then after 15 years and 10s of billions in research costs they unveil a Ford Pinto that will cost $250,000 each.

Absolutely YES. We should be able to visit Luna City by now.

Absolutely, If I die I die a hero

Was glued with my parents to the TV in 1969 - you know - the one the nut jobs on the web claim never happened. Stayed absolutely engrossed through the next six landings (plus the heroic return of Apollo 13) through 1972. Somehow the conspiracy clowns seem to overlook the following five successful landings. I was despondent when we walked away from that magnificent achievement. I'll admit to a tear in my eye this evening watching the launch.

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes

Hey Steve, This is Steve Washington we met at KMG last year. I am interested in your Winchester. Would love to speak with you about it. I work third shift and I cannot take a phone with me to work. Let me know a good time to call during one of your mornings. My phone is [redacted]. Live in Florida so I have to account for the time difference.
Look forward to hearing from you.

Good day, Slider.

Do you by any chance have any 500NE brass left that you are willing to part ways with?

Best regards,
Boela Bekker.
